Yes. Not just for this girl, but because you'll need to ask for what you want in life. Whether prom works out or not, you might as well start getting in the habit.

For this instance in particular, keep in mind -- prom is (ideally) about having fun. If you make it mean something more than that, she'll feel that pressure. The pressure of you wanting her to say yes, you wanting her to like you, you wanting her to be your girlfriend, etc.

Not that those are bad things to want, but they put pressure on the other person, and that can be uncomfortable if they're not yet ready to accept that.

On the other hand, if you invite her and she gets the feeling that it's going to be fun, she won't have to worry about breaking your heart if she says no, or that prom itself is going to be this huge, stressful situation (because so much is riding on it for you) it'll be much easier for her to say yes.

In that scenario, she only has to be responsible for herself -- she doesn't have to worry about you, and that's an attractive quality. Someone who's going to enjoy himself no matter what. No pressure.

Try to put yourself in the other person's shoes. That advice that'll serve you well throughout your life.

Well, I know it's a bit out of the price range, but I love my pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50X. I went from a set of Razer headphones to these and it's crazy how much more you hear, I even started doing better in CS:GO because I could actually hear what was happening around me. The M50X is the new model, you can get the M50 for a bit less. Have you looked at /r/headphones yet? They have this guide to look at to get a better idea of stuff. I do know that Sennheiser also make some nice headphones that people use for gaming. You'll have to pick up a mic though, I just use a cheap one that works as well as the one on my Razer headset did.

Audio-Technica has an excellent reputation - my husband just got the ATH-M50x (about $20 more than your budget) and the sound quality is just mind-blowing. They're also very comfortable, and have (get this) a removable cord - which is always the first to break on every pair of headphones I've ever owned, so that helps increase longevity. I believe there's also a slightly cheaper model without the removable cord but with equal sound/comfort quality.

Other than that - Sennheiser gets a lot of mention on Reddit, and rightly so. A couple of years ago I bought a pair for something like $35 (one of their lowest-end models) and the sound quality was noticeably better than $100+ Bose. The consensus seems to be that they're not as comfortable as Audio-Technica, however, and certainly my cheapie model was fairly uncomfortable. From what I can tell from reviews, Sennheiser tends to sit on the ear while Audio-Technica goes around the ear, which (for me) is much better.

Logitech M510 Wireless Mouse! I'm using M705 and it's really great, M510 seems nearly the same as mine, and mine fits my hand great.

Yes. Stop now. At least for a while, long enough to regain complete control.

I had the exact same problem until a year ago. I tried all I could to moderate, I still ended up drinking way too much and passing out on my bathroom floor. So I quit drinking entirely for about 3 months, and took this time to re-think my relationship with alcohol. It did a lot of good!

If you need some help, try paying a visit to the folks over at /r/stopdrinking, and maybe read this book. Best of luck!

You could get the hideous [2DS] (http://www.amazon.com/3ds-64-entertainment-system-wii-super/dp/B00EZPCX1A). It plays the same games as a 3DS while being cheaper, but no 3D as the name lends itself. But the 3DS is a pretty solid system with a good library. I don't think you'd regret buying one.

What is your moral opposition to eating meat? I ask not in a defensive tone, because I too am a vegetarian (and I have been all my life). I think it should really just boil down to this: we pretty much know that animals are capable of feeling pain. This assumption is codified in laws regarding bestiality and animal cruelty. From a utilitarian perspective, disengaging from the meat-eating society allows you to engage in life in a way that more successfully limits the pain that living things experience on earth.

Another thing to consider is that the meat industry is one of the most environmentally unsound human endeavors ever conceived. The economic model for creating meat-based products is essentially "grow food, harvest that food, transport that food to the real food, have the real food eat the food we already grew, and then harvest the real food." Meat is needlessly expensive in a 21st century economy in which many people could be healthy with a vegetarian diet. This expense is far more than just in a monetary sense, it is a cost which resonates environmentally as well. Think about all the fuels used merely to transport grains or corn to the animals that will eat them. This kind of stuff adds up.

Someone else in these comments recommended that you should consult a nutritionist to see what kinds of things you would be lacking from giving up meat. I just want to let you know that everyone should consult nutritionists, and that people who don't eat meat really don't give up much. A common misconception about vegetarians is that they don't get enough protein. In reality, most meat-eaters are receiving an excess of protein (nothing harmful, but nothing necessary to their diet).

A final thought: I questioned my vegetarianism when I was about 15, as I had grown up with vegetarian parents and for a while it felt as if I was living under someone else's philosophy with no real thought of my own factoring in. I read Jonathan Safran Foer's Eating Animals during this time and it reassured me that vegetarianism wasn't just right, it was right for me. Do some reading before you reach a decision. You want this to be something that's truly yours.

Highly recommend a dashcam. I was recently was in an accident on a two lane road that goes straight and then has a moderate turn. A driver drifted into my car as she didn't follow the curve of the turn. She hit me in my rear quarter panel, so it looked more like she was in MY blind spot and she told the insurance that I change lanes into her. Thank GOD I had my dashcam and was able show I stayed in my lane and the earlier footage actually shows her drift around a little bit, like texters do when they make an adjustment to the steering and then lose focus for a few seconds.

My cam is this A119 after it was recommended on /r/dashcam, though now they have an updated version. Also for front and rear cam the A129 Pro Duo just came out and it is in 4k video. WIll likely put that in my wifes car in a month or two.

I would stay away from a gaming headset and get audiophile headphones. The difference in quality is phenomenal.

Examples include AKG 550s and Sennheiser 598
