My advice is:
I was in the same boat as you 3 years ago. CS degree anddd thousands applying for the same position as me. Luckily i got a job in the end. Started applying 3 months before i finished my exam. Ended up getting a job straight after finishing my exams as a junior software developer. :)
Oh gosh, I have all sorts of favorite NZ books.
Witi Ihimeara's The Whale Rider and Where's Waari? a collection of short stories are two of my favourite books. Ask the Posts of the House is another one. I love all Ihimeara's work. Another book I love is Keri Hulme's The Bone People.
The best one I would go with, if you can find it, is Where's Waari? He's collected short stories from throughout NZ's literary history and put them together in an anthology to tell the story of the Maori. It's one of my favourite books, right up there with Lord of the Rings.
Leaving aside for the moment the question of what Trump has actually done to help the victims of March 15th...
is he publicly receiving praise from a Muslim for the help he's provided to the Muslim faith going to appeal to his evangelical base? I mean, this is what specifically appeals to his evangelical base..
Read Bryan Caplan's The Myth of the Rational Voter . His basic thesis is that in politics there is no incentive to change from biased/wrong beliefs. I never challenge my beliefs even if seeing them implemented could bring me great harm, because the probability that my vote is the decider is practically zero. A result of this is people supporting parties as they support sports teams.
This is a really good read: Trial of the Cannibal Dog "This vivid book retells the story of Captain Cook’s great voyages in the South Seas, focusing on the encounters between the explorers and the island peoples they “discovered.”"
> I suggest one of the reasons there was a WWII was to destroy Hitler for successfully challenging the private foreign Central Bank, for restoring economic prosperity to Germany through Germany being able to issue it's own currency.
Counter-suggestion.
There is a very informative book you might enjoy,

Michael King wrote a great book, the Penguin History of New Zealand
How about a repair manual full of words of advice for young people? Like https://www.amazon.com/Zen-Art-Motorcycle-Maintenance-Inquiry/dp/0060589469
https://www.amazon.com/Bone-People-Novel-Keri-Hulme/dp/0140089225
That's worth a look too.
Not really the way I was using it but go off. I was more meaning "everyone knows this and it should be obvious but I'm going to be polite". You can even read a book about it https://www.amazon.com/Politics-Police-Robert-Reiner/dp/0199283397
Just needs the t-shirt

Nope, you don't need a guide. You can get a lot of info on the web. This book is the definitive guide: LotR Location Guidebook, extended edition

Waaaaaaaaaaaah that's why I was gonna do this in the PM. It's this one
According to the book Sapiens the Maori wiped out around 60% of NZ's native species before Europeans arrived. Similar story with the Aborigines in Australia.
Yes they like to claim they lived on the land harmoniously, but they first caused a lot of damage before they learnt to do so.
Here's a great reference text. Australian book. The worst car in here is the Zeta, but the other 110 aren't good either.

Ka Whawai Tonu Matou: Struggle without End
The Golliwog only appears truly villainous in a single story by Blyton and her other characters such as bears, goblins, and monkeys are far moreso. What is far more likely is that someone has attempted to read too far into a children's story and come to an erroneous conclusion based on nothing of substance. See Rudd's work for a more thorough reading.
