Get a buddy and go indoor rock climbing first, second and third. I love PRG. There you will learn several important things like the basic tie in knot, how to trust the rope and how to belay with a grigri. You will learn to use your whole body without trying to do pull ups. Its really pretty easy to get people to go indoor climbing vs outdoor, and then you can find the people who like climbing and you trust with your life.
If you are the kind of person who likes to read about things before going out and trying them, try this and if you want to do trad (not pre anchored sport routes) this.
When I first started climbing, I almost took a class here. If you don't have a bunch of indoor climbing experience, some experienced friend, or just a mind for detail and a crap load of overconfidence - take the class. I learned as I went with a few good friends, but there were a few lessons that we almost learned the hard way. Have fun up there!
We just planted our spring/summer crop, it's mostly tomatoes and stuff like squash, cucumber, etc. Dave the Garden Guy from 3TV has a great book on arizona gardening, and there are some great Facebook groups as well.

The starter decks are a good start but they usually don't have enough cards in them, and too many land. This is a good thing to get as well:
https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Gathering-Deck-Builders-Toolkit/dp/0786955651
It will have random cards in it from all colors, so he'll be able to tweak and customize the decks to his liking.
And yea.. this can be an expensive hobby.. but it doesn't have to be. If he is able to work I'd say time to get a job if you want more than this!
Buy yourself this book, https://amzn.to/2ILu90D. It will help you learn to budget, it even has forms in the back. As far as a/c make sure you figure out how to set times, and as others have said, let it get 80+ during the day when you are not there, and drop down after you get home. My largest bill last year was ~$350 on a 2600 sq/ft house with 6 people and my crypto miners running (lots of power/heat) you should be able to beat that easily.
Good luck.
I was just about to type out something about the demand charge when my letter turned to orange!
Yeah that demand charge is nuts. Have you considered your water heater? I'm almost positive that having it turned off from 3-8 will have a very minimal effect on your life (I don't know you from Adam, though).
Putting that baby on an [intermatic timer] (https://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-Electric-Water-Heater-Timer/dp/B00004W4XI/) (not an affiliate link) could easily pay for itself in a few months (if it's the only big appliance being used in that period, but it'll still pay for itself eventually if not).
I begin the super saver max plan tomorrow, so I'm very eager to see how this all plays out for me.
I am not an expert but have been growing here for several years and can try to answer questions. But check out gardenweb, it's a great resource.
Gardening here is different than the rest of the country so you might want to pick up a book to learn about the unique soil. This one is old but it's what I've used.
There are a lot of behavioral interventions that you can attempt on your own with or without a doctor's assistance that have been shown to reduce migraines. The best resource for this is probably The Migraine Brain.
I offer this resource as a person with direct experience with the book and from a family of migraine sufferers. Generally, our migraines manifest themselves differently (I become an irascible asshole, my sister becomes completely debilitated, etc...). We have found that it's pretty much trial and error for each person. After that, finding a neurologist that is willing to work on behavioral interventions is really about interviewing them up front.
Best of luck.
Give me one second and I’ll try to find the book I had to read in my AZ history class in college.
Edit: Found it! It’s pretty comprehensive but not too bad of a textbook vibe. I think the most interest part is the battle over water at the turn of the century and how that charged a lot of the politics of the state - oh and the Mormons as well.
Arizona: A History, Revised Edition - Southwest Center Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/0816506930?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
This book is GREAT.

This is, on its face, typical cronyism. Bolick is a right-wing extremist even compared to right-wing extremists, and he uses his position as vice president of lititgation for the far-right Goldwater Institute to bully, harass, and legally vex anyone they disagree with. He holds your typical radical-right views, including championing the defunding of public schools in the name of vouchers for more easily-controlled private schools; the gradual devolution and destruction of government, including at the local level, in the name of private interest; the end of affirmative action; and last, but not least, the general libertarian ideal of capitalism as the meaning of life.
Did I mention he has no judicial experience whatsoever?
I can't really help with questions but there is this book: http://www.amazon.com/Divorce-Arizona-Process-Rights-Expect/dp/194049527X
It's written in a q&a style format and could potentially be useful to you.

I don't see one online just by using google but I know one exists because it's in this book. I got it at Southwest Gardener in Phoenix. Its published by the master gardeners so it also has that same planting calendar in it that's linked above.

That was one fluffy article. Not a clue about the book or about Jeff Flake. Not even the book's title? I guess it's this : https://www.amazon.com/Senator-Presents-Wastebook-Porkemon-January/dp/1973708094/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501114431&sr=8-1&keywords=jeff+flake
Edit : It's not at the library either?
I would suggest taking a local firearms course and getting a copy of the Arizona Gun Owners Guide
If you shoot outdoors please pick up your brass and use proper/ temporary targets.
