I'm pretty sure a wifi connection isn't a substitute for a medical degree.

Now, in the meantime: To help you deal with the compulsiveness try something like these. Just put them on when you get into bed or whenever you're idle and you start to pick.

They're cheap, they're not uncomfortable, and they're really lightweight, so they won't bother you if you fall asleep with them on. Just look around on there to find the right size for you.

Good luck. Hang in there. (And go see the God damn doctor.)

Please please please remember me if you find out what the deal is. I've had this all my life.

My most recent cleaning regimen has been the most effective and has almost gotten rid of it, but I'm 31 so it's been decades since having a clear scalp. For starters, I have a buzz cut so it helps that I can get to my scalp in the shower. I use Irish Spring Original first (other Irish Springs aren't has harsh). Then I come in with Selsun Blue Deep Cleansing - It's the one with Salicylic Acid as the active ingredient. After a month, I'm almost totally clear. I did start with also using a blackhead scrub for a week or so between the soap and shampoo, but I stopped using that (expensive) and it doesn't seem to have had any change in the effectiveness. It did possibly help at the start though. It was the Garnier Skinactive Blackhead erasing scrub charcoal.

Ouch, that looks painful! You may want to see a doctor for antibiotics to clear that up. Afterwards, invest in a good aftercare spray to keep it clean. H2Ocean Piercing Aftercare Spray worked wonders for my daith piercing. It's such a difficult place to access, the spray did a really good job of getting into all the cracks. Because it's cartilage, it will take up to 6 months to properly heal. Try not to sleep on it, and if it gets a bit crusty, soak a cotton ball in the spray and let it sit on the piercing for a bit. Good luck!

Mine never hurt me. I had one almost identical to this one--same place on the same wrist. It just didn't bother me but it slowly got larger and larger until I asked my doctor to drain it. He did it almost the exact same way as on this video too...

...Then he said, "oooey-gooey, thick and chewy!" just before he injected a steroid into my wrist to try to prevent it from recurring.

Edit: It did recur, but I got rid of it by using one of those hand strengthening things: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006GCBL4/

My theory is that it forces the joints to "open" enough that the synovial fluid can very gradually redistribute.

Try to grow the nail out and trim or file it down evenly. If I feel like I’m getting an ingrown nail, then I lift the corners of the nail and put a piece of cotton between the nail and the skin and it helps it grow correctly. There are also some products on amazon that could help

If you can get the infection to go away, you should find a good place to get a pedicure. My place is really good at lift the nail out, but not all places will be.

Buy a Waterpik . It's expensive, but it'll be one of the best investments. I used to get them all the time, but a couple cleanings from the waterpik and I don't get them anymore. Just make sure it's set to mid-low pressure.

Lifelong ingrown toenail sufferer here, once had one so bad it grew out of the side of my toe. When I finally went to the doctor, the nurse dry heaved when she saw it.

I feel your pain, friend, allow me to help.

  • Soak your foot in hot salt water for 15-20 minutes

  • I'd suggest buying some surgical scissors and cutting your ingrown along the line of the enflamed skin, then popping the nail clip out. Something like these surgical scissors will do nicely. If you can't wait they have them at Rite Aid or any comparable chain pharmacy, they're generally pretty cheap too.

  • Once you've taken out the offending chunk of nail from the side wall of your toe, I'd suggest soaking a strip of cotton in hydrogen peroxide and twisting it into a strip, then you should use a nail file and pack that soaked cotton strip in between your nail and the skin. Do this a couple times a day. It will be full of puss and blood when you take it out, it's awesome. Take pictures for us!

You can pick up a blackhead extractor at Wal-Mart. It looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0017KCPU0

It will be cleaner and not as forceful as using fingers.

Clean your face thoroughly before and after popping.

try using this

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GCLTVG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

i used other freezing products before and it didnt work. i had a 5 year old wart to deal with. i did have some it removed using this. i would still recommend finding a doctor to treat this. that looks huge. or find a higher grade of acid than what i recommended. mines completely gone now. it took 5 months to get rid of but im over it. for now.

personal fix is a pair of wire nippers like these https://www.amazon.com/Xuron-170-II-Micro-Shear-Flush-Cutter/dp/B000IBSFAI
And some needle nose pliers to grab the then nipped nail and pull.

Think you're right, years ago I had this after some wax got impacted, had to use Lotrimine drops to get rid of it.
