It is impossible to tell from the image, so for anyone else who sees this and wants to look it up:
According to the rattycorner cage calculator this will (based on volume) hold up to two rats, but I don't think there is enough horizontal space to actually put much in. You would need to really fill it with hammocks and ropes to make use of all that vertical space. I would personally only use it as a temporary cage.
On Amazon UK I'd recommend the Savic Zeno 2 as a budget cage option if you need a cage quickly (it's twice as wide, but shorter - 80cm w x 50cm d x 70cm h), but if you have a bit more time then it's worth checking out eBay, Gumtree, Facebook etc for used cages in your area -- people just want to get rid of them and you can get a really great deal. :)
so, first and foremost, we're far more active on /r/RATS. (im basically subbed here to tell people this).
but, im currently going through this with two of my boys. They're both on antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. What you can do in the mean time though, is take him into the bathroom and run the shower as hot as possible. Just hang out with him and let him breathe in the steamed air. You can dilute some honey in some water and feed that to him. I suggest getting a non-needle syringe. something like this. you can find them at pharmacies. You can use this to feed him water and the honey mixture. Dark chocolate is good too. there's some sort of chemical in that that helps them breathe. I also heard you can give him rosemary but ive never tried that.
The biggest thing that helped was firm tapping with my finger on the side of his body right behind his arm. Dean boggles now when i do this to him and he's not even really sick anymore.
They are probably sized from whatever malnourished rodents roam the alleys near the chinese factory where they are made.
If you're remotely competent with a needle and thread you can easily make your own. I did it with some velcro wire ties and paracord sewn together. I think the trick it to make it so they don't feel swaddled by it, which will make them react like that.
