Happy Keyboard-Fu
For quite some time, I had the Cherry Xana which has a sister with a different sensor, the Cherry Xero. When those weren't available anymore, I got a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500 (which can be used ambidextrously).
Now my company switched to a Laptop + Docking station setup for the desks, so I got a wireless mouse, the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S.
Basically all my mice had 2 extra buttons and a 4-way scroll wheel.
To give you some perspective I just looked up the passmark score for a recent midrange laptop with a lot of reviews and that i7 from 2008 still scored higher.
