Consider if you will, combining the following three items for a somewhat more authentic experience:
I can confirm that these three items work together, as they are currently plugged into my GameCube, and I've just tested them with a SNES VC game on my Wii.
You can theoretically connect a SNES30 directly to a Wii wirelessly as if it were a wiimote, but I was unable to get that working properly.
Can't give you the best, but I can suggest maybe using the Wii U Pro Controller if you like how those feel. You'd have to buy an additional dongle to make it work though so I wouldn't say its the most cost effective solution.
The PS4 is a great alternative. If you can't be bothered with a bluetooth connection (Windows 7 has some compatibility issues with the bluetooth protocol used in the ps4 controller. Something to do with legacy issues I'm assuming) just hook it up with a micro usb and use DS4Windows. Free software, and works fantastic for any other games.
Sorta -- 8bitdo makes a wireless SNES adapter. It's compatible with wiimotes which are compatible with the SNES classic controller.
I'm not aware of anyone testing this out yet, but in theory you should be able to plug a SNES classic controller into a Wiimote, pair it with the 8bitdo adapter, and use it with your original SNES console.
I don't expect it to ever be possible to directly plug a SNES classic controller into a SNES console; the voltages used by the original SNES controllers and the SNES classic controllers differ.
You just need to buy the NES Adapter or SNES Adapter.
Just ran into this conundrum myself. Bought a SNES Classic and wanted to get a wireless controller for it: This one to be exact. Unfortunately it was lag-tacular, (probably a 1/4 second delay, but enough to be irritating on platformers like MegaMan X and Super Metroid).

Returned it, and picked up this and this instead. The difference is night and day, and the controls are super snappy and responsive. Picked up the regular SNES adapter version as well and it works like a charm too.
I use the 8bitdo retro receiver which I sync with a Wii remote, and then I plug the snes classic controller into the Wii remote. Works like a charm, and it allows me to play “wireless”:

I believe using their SNES receiver allows you to use the left analog for movement.

This is the one I mentioned for $25 USD. Not sure how much that converts to for you.
Edit: Oh, were you talking about the controller itself? Yeah, the controllers are around $40 here too.
