I wouldn't look for a 4k screen on a 13.3 laptop, windows still has scaling issues and the icons will be either really small or really big for this screen size, also I don't think you need 16 GB of ram, or kaby lake because the main advantage of that is battery but you can still get great battery life with 6th gen CPU so I would recommend either The Acer Aspire R 14 because it has a 14% off deal right now and it already offered great value for money, it comes with the usual specs 14" Full HD Touch, Intel dual Core i5 which is again powerful enough for most college usage, 8GB Memory which is enough ram for smooth multi tasking, 256GB SSD very good for faster booting and and overall performance, Intel HD Graphics 520 good for light gaming/photo editing, a little heavier at 4.2 lbs, good battery life at 5-7 hours with light to medium usage, above average build quality, has 2 in 1 feature, comes with USB type C, and great price tag.

Or the The Acer Spin 5 because it offers great value for money, it comes with Intel Core i5-6200U Processor just like the other acer, Intel HD Graphics 520 good for light gaming/photo editing , 8GB of ram which is enough ram for smooth multi tasking, 256GB of SSD for faster booting and and overall performance, very good battery life at 7-10 hours with light to medium usage, very good build quality with metal cover, (1920 x 1080) resolution with 13.3 inch screen, it is also light weight at 3.53 lbs, and it has 2 in 1 feature with 4 modes which a nice bonus and can work with acer active stylus combined with 2 in 1 feature makes it a great option for drawing and such.

/u/The---Technician is the expert here, but I found a couple laptops you might be interested in. Here is an Acer 14 inches and here is an Asus one that is very light and portable but it's $700. You can always get an SD card and have it in the laptop at all times for more storage.

Again, these might not be the best at this price point or they might be. /u/The---Technician knows more than I so maybe he can suggest a better one.

A cheaper option I'd suggest if you really want high portability and a long battery life, consider the Asus Zenbook Flip for $530. It's not quite as powerful as other options, but it should still work fine for light and moderate use with an intel core M processor, 8gb of ram and a 256gb SSD. It also has a long battery (advertised up to 18 hours), and weighs in at just under 3 lbs.

For options a bit larger, consider the Acer Aspire R 14 if you don't need as much storage and prefer an SSD. It's also a pretty solid machine with a skylake i5 processor, 8gb of ram, 256gb SSD nad HD 620 graphics. It has a battery advertised up to 9 hours, and weighs in at 4.2 lbs.

There is also the similar Lenovo Flex 4 if you need more storage and want a 1TB HDD. It weighs 3.85 lbs, but has a pretty short battery.

Finally - if you'd like to take notes on your laptop, I'd suggest the Surface Pro 4 from Costco. You can get the model with an i5, 4gb of ram and 128gb SSD for $700 - and the keyboard and pen are included.

If you're looking for more suggestions or are interested in getting a better idea of options on the market, I suggest taking a look at my Laptop Suggestion Guide. Best of luck!

how about this thin light weight Acer Aspire R 14 Convertible. its a great PC that has some great specs. it houses a Intel Core i5 cpu, a decent 256GB SSD storage space, and a nice Intel HD Graphics 520. to top it off, it has a great keyboard as well as touchpad and a battery life of up to 9 hours.
