Yep, Ducky Shine 5 is the only device I know of off the top of my head that uses the obscure Mini USB 3.0. If you look up unboxing videos, you can see it's Mini. Like in this one.

Micro USB 3.0 looks like this.

First this is the wrong subreddit. Second what type of device are you connecting to the port? The device and cable need to be USB 3.0 compatible. The MicroUSB cable for USB 3.0 is wider like this one and the connectors will usually be colored blue.

I recently hacked my girlfriend's Wii U 32gb, and got everything to work. I installed a few games and they worked just fine. I installed a few more games and now I get the 160-2713 error code. I found a picture describing the message, since I can't take pictures of my Wii U. The only difference is mine says 99.99.99 U:

Error Message

I'm using this cable

I've used this cable for 2 other Wii U's, with no issues.

Since it works for a bit, wouldn't that mean the cable and HDD are getting enough power?

I got the HDD from a friend. It was a 2.5 inch Samsung External hdd. I removed the enclosure and formatted the drive after moving everything from it.

I'm leaning towards it being the HDD dying, and if so, then I have another HDD I can use, which is a Seagate.

Would there be any other reasons this might happen?

Right, but so would USB 3.1 using Micro-B 3. The connector is not the important part, the USB spec is. Multiple connectors can work with a spec.
