Not sure what your budget is, but my current monitor is 1440p 144hz (can apparently get up to 165hz) with G-Sync. It's kinda spendy, but I was blown away coming from a 1080p 60hz monitor and I've really liked it. Link to it's Amazon page

This has gone on sale for $550 in the past too.

I'm running a 1070 with G-sync at 1440p/144hz and using this AOG 27" G-sync IPS monitor. No regrets! I highly recommend it if you can afford it.

u/Middcore · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

You can get the AOC Agon AG271QG, 1440p 165hz IPS G-sync, for over $100 less right now and that's not even a sale price.

https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-Gaming-Monitor-G-Sync/dp/B01G5JYMNA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493740287&sr=8-2&keywords=aoc+agon

I generally like the (many) Asus products I've owned but it really seems like you're paying for the Asus brand name here.

u/Anergos · 3 pointsr/buildapc

Is the "under $600" set in stone? Because for just $20 more ($620) you can get this.

1440p, IPS, 165Hz, GSync.

I just built a PC almost identical to yours, the major difference being I went with a Ryzen 7. I bought a new monitor to compliment it as well. I was on the fence between going for a 4k/60Hz or a 1440p/144Hz monitor. Having never used a high refresh rate monitor before I was a nonbeliever, let alone with with adaptive sync tech (FreeSync/ GSync). I ended up getting this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G5JYMNA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It appears out of stock on Amazon, I got it new for $550. I've been enjoying the hell out of it since I got it two weeks ago. 2k is a very noticeable step up from 1080p and GSync/ 144Hz+ is an absolute must for me now. Even though I can only crank up competitive games to 165 FPS (Overwatch, BF1, HOTS) it's still great for games where the frame rate fluctuates notably when you're maxing the hell out of them like The Witcher and Mass Effect Andromeda. No tearing AT ALL, still smooth as hell, sharp. I'd definitely recommend it over 4k. Not to mention even the 1080Ti has trouble capping out at 60 FPS for most games at 4k, let alone our 1080s. I do know you can find a 2k/144Hz/Gsync monitor for about $400 if you're okay with a 24" screen.

I came here looking for this information and didn't get much help. I ended up doing quite a bit of research and I ended up buying this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G5JYMNA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its 144hz, 27" and 1440p -- ips to boot.

The monitor is awesome and by far the best bang for your buck I found.

u/Armisael · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Anyone know how this compares to www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G5JYMNA ?

u/o0adam0o · 2 pointsr/BuildAPCSalesMeta

Nope... you are looking closer to $600. Unless you get a used/refurb/open box one. Then you might be able to find one for $500. GSync is expensive.

Examples:

u/MrGrrrey · 2 pointsr/Monitors

I actually have a similar setup.

I've got an Evga 1080 Ti SC2 with an [AOC AG271QG ] (https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-2560x1440-Adjustable-DisplayPort/dp/B01G5JYMNA) (27"/1440p/165Hz/IPS/G-Sync) and an Acer XB270H (27"/1080p/144Hz/TN/G-Sync).

I play on the 1440p one and do other things like watching streams, YouTube, discord and general browsing on the other one. It's really awesome and I wouldn't go back to a single monitor setup.

u/lesi20 · 2 pointsr/Monitors

High Refresh rate are usually good for Comeptive gaming (like CS GO, Overwatch, DOTA) and racing games.

I'm pretty sure your 1080 is constantly being bottlenecked by your 1080p Monitor.

For Me Freesync worth it, I cannot say the same with G-Sync because... well its not Free and I got an AMD card.

If you want to have a great budget 144hz Monitor I recommend my LG 24gm77. If you want a the best monitor for your 1080p I full heartly recommend this

https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-Gaming-Monitor-G-Sync/dp/B01G5JYMNA

Its pricey, but my Brother has it, and its beautiful

u/Parad0xium · 2 pointsr/buildapc

The specs you've linked look pretty good. I don't see anything else maybe the liquid cooler I would look out for read some negative reviews of some defects. The monitor is purely personal preference and if you want the one with the best color calibration and colors. Personally am using the AOC Agon AG271QG 27" Gaming Monitor, QHD 2560x1440 IPS. I don't think the one you linked is IPS and is an LCD 1440p monitor. If you want the best colors and viewing angles get an IPS 1440p 144hz monitor.

u/Larszx · 2 pointsr/nvidia

I have had this AOC for over a year now and it has worked nearly flawlessly.

u/CanuckGooner · 2 pointsr/Monitors

I was going to pull the trigger on the AOG AGON AG271QG 27-Inch 165 Hz IPS. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01G5JYMNA/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3MRI2BOM2BLL5&colid=2WQH9SNE483DX

It was as low as $750 CAD on Amazon.ca but I waited and then decided to spend more on the Alienware AW3418DW and and am waiting on it. The AOC is back up to $850 so just be patient.

The AOC has an AU panel and as all of 27" 1440p IPS screens has some glow and potential back light bleed. It's the most affordable of the bunch in that group of AOC, Viewsonic and Asus. Reviews online are mostly of the first batch made in the 2016 but apparently the stock now has been improved.

One option is to spend a touch more on it at Costco.ca where you know you can return without question. It's $899 though and they don't price match.

u/pineappolis · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

The AOC Agon 27 was on sale for $549 on Amazon not too long ago according to this:
https://camelcamelcamel.com/AOC-AG271QG-Gaming-Monitor-G-Sync/product/B01G5JYMNA?context=search

I'd say it's worth the price if it drops that low again.

u/CaptainPotassium · 1 pointr/Monitors

I'm in the same boat. I'm on my second S24 (the first one was seriously damaged in shipping), and the colors are so atrocious that I'm thinking about just getting a 144Hz IPS monitor with Gsync as well, specifically the 27" AOC Agon AG271QG.

I'd prefer a 24-inch monitor, but I can't find one anywhere that has all three features (IPS, Gsync, 144Hz).

u/FINALLY_I_TRIED · 1 pointr/buildapc

With this build you could make use of 1080p 144Hz, 1440p 60Hz and if you want to future-proof your monitor even 1440p at 144Hz. Here is a list of monitors that would fit:

u/Pillagerguy · 1 pointr/giantbomb

There's a 27 inch 1440p IPS panel that "overclocks" to 165 Hz and has Gsync that's been in a bunch of monitors.

I got an AOC Agon a while ago that's that thing.

if it isn't this, it's like this

u/Fredrro · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have read good things about the both. I know the Viewsonic has better menus and settings. I'd go with the viewsonic. I wish these IPS 144hz monitors didn't cost so damn much. I am going to buy one around black friday/cyber monday hoping they go on sale.

https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-Gaming-Monitor-G-Sync/dp/B01G5JYMNA

I think both are good

u/YERBAMATE93 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Maybe not the best, but the cheapest 27" IPS 165hz 1440p: AOC Agon AG271QG

https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-Gaming-Monitor-G-Sync/dp/B01G5JYMNA

u/MythicalPigeon · 1 pointr/Monitors

Not much G-Sync IPS 144hz fit that budget, unless for sale (usually they are around $700) I'll list some good ones:

AOC AG271QG

Viewsonic XG2703-GS

Acer XB271HU

Acer XB270HU

If you are fine with no G-Sync, then the Nixeus EDG27 fits your budget (Not fully released, will be some time very soon though. Some places are already shipping them out)

u/soldersmoker · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I know this is new/recertified but can anyone weigh in on how this compares to the AOC equivalent?
https://smile.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-Gaming-Monitor-G-Sync/dp/B01G5JYMNA

u/Deemes · 1 pointr/buildapc

Well if the $700 is too much, there are cheaper options of the same panel. For example, An Acer Recertified panel for $526, or the AOC AG271QG for $620 at Amazon. And yes, IPS models always can have issues with backlight bleed, but for many people an IPS panel is a must and the BLB a necessary risk. Personally I invested a lot into my own panel; a fair bit more than into my video card, even, but everyone has their preferences.

I believe the MX Silent switches are fairly silent, im sure they wouldn't have produced such a switch otherwise. I havent been able to personally test silent switches as they are very rare, rocking MX Browns right now myself. /r/MechanicalKeyboards may be able to help you.

Headphones are very much a preference thing and if you like the sound signature of the MDR-7506; they are a good option. I would still advise you to test out cans in a brick and mortar store and see what's out there; you may have just been unlucky with the other cans you've tried. I'm using Philips Fidelio X2:s right now which have a wide soundstage and I'm very pleased with, but if open back cans aren't an option, the V-Moda Crossfade M-100:s are another very high quality pair of cans. Though both of these may be from a tad higher price range...

The EVGA FTW3 is a very nice model, and it has 3 very large fans so cooling should be top-of-the-line. Certainly a good option.

u/cowsareverywhere · 1 pointr/Games

These are, pretty good. There are tons of great reviews here for most monitors with calibration settings.

u/AdminsHelpMePlz · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

sweeet profit lol

I decided that i like my dual monitor setup more and those ultrawides are too risky a purchase currently. I was using them wrong. I have one in portrait and the other in landscape this is great.

Worst case scenario on the deal you could get a refurb 525. Or check out the aoc agon for 598 that should be the latest monitor available of 3 that has same specs. Some claim better QC than all. https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-Gaming-Monitor-G-Sync/dp/B01G5JYMNA

A bit under budget, if you want to spend a bit more for an additional feature you can get this monitor which has G-Sync.

u/Cyberi · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have AOC Agon AG271QG 27” (amazon link)
I was actually referring to only one screen with "144Hz/165Hz"
since its sold as 165Hz and can be overclocked to that but its
native refresh rate is still 144Hz so its kinda marketing trick I guess. I havent bothered fiddling with it so I'm using it as 144Hz which is the default.

u/The_Pixelated_Fish · 1 pointr/buildapc

I recently purchased this monitor and I gotta say I really enjoy it so far. I got it from Microcenter for $500 https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-2560x1440-Adjustable-DisplayPort/dp/B01G5JYMNA

u/antcal88 · 1 pointr/buildapc

any difference in the acer predator xb271hu bmiprz and the AOC Agon AG271QG?

both are 27inch 1440p 144hz gsync and ips, which is the better pick?

u/Mibutastic · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Just to let anyone know if they are considering this monitor, Amazon Canada just put it on sale for $679 + $14.99 shipping so it's an even better deal than Newegg. Much better return policy and no restocking fees!!! Only 1 left in stock though.

https://www.amazon.ca/AOC-AG271QG-27-Inch-Display-Monitor/dp/B01G5JYMNA/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1538947009&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=aoc+agon+ag271qg&dpPl=1&dpID=41AFLLdMBWL&ref=plSrch

EDIT: Canada computers is the one supplying the stock on Amazon so I went to their site and they are also selling it at the same price as Amazon. No idea what shipping is though.

u/xandarg · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm also currently trying to decide between those two (going to go to check them out at a nearby Micro center in person before I decide). In my research, I found out that there are actually 3 monitors for sale that use the exact same panel in that Predator you're considering (since only one factory in the world is currently producing a 27" 1440p Gsync IPS 144-165Hz panel):

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-bmiprz-2560x1440/dp/B06ZXZ3QBD

https://www.amazon.com/PG279Q-2560x1440-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B017EVR2VM/

https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QG-2560x1440-Adjustable-DisplayPort/dp/B01G5JYMNA/

u/void-crus · 1 pointr/buildapc

There is only three of them. All have same panel, same gsync module, same bugs (verical line issue), very close color calibration, time response and similar QA:

ASUS ROG PG279Q

Acer Predator XB271HU

AOC Agon AG271QG

For what it's worth Acer has a bit better Newegg rating than the other two.

But you can just pick based on price/design and you'll be fine.

And they are all overpriced by the way, thanks to NVidia GSync module.

u/player2gaming · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

The G-Sync model is on sale too it seems. I don't know if it's a good deal because I haven't been watching these monitors. idek if they're good.

It's the least expensive of the 27", 2560x1440, G-sync, IPS sort (at least on ca.pcpartpicker.com : https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#r=384002160,344001440,256001440&X=0,175380&T=1,8&A=1&sort=price&p=1)

Haven't seen it go under $550 on this sub yet.

u/TiKels · 1 pointr/buildapc

I bought a monitor that had HDMI as well as DP connections on it, and I started researching and I found out that it had DP 1.2 & HDMI 1.4 inputs. Which doesn't seem like a big deal, until i started looking at the specs of each of those. It turns out that HDMI 1.4 cannot go above 60 Hz, and to hit the 144Hz of the monitor you HAVE to use a DP cable.

Consider looking at your manual of the monitor to see if it recommends using one cable or another.

u/ABillionStinkyButts · 0 pointsr/nvidia

Actually 165hz (G-sync model) or 144hz (Freesync model) with a TN panel.
