I´m personally a big fan of VA panels. yeah they´re not as accurate a lot of the time. but unless you´re doing colour-sensitive work. you´re not gonna care once you see that sweet sweet contrast ratio VA has to offer.

Here´s my picks
Lower end. but very good
Lower end. but still awesome
Factory calibrated hdr goodness

I went for more of a budget pick for what I've been told is a medium-tier gaming monitor.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07MJCF5N4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Got this when i made the swap to pc, looks 10 times better than the 4k i had with the PsPro.

I went with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MJCF5N4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 AOC Agon monitor. I use it for my xbox (I have an Alienware ultrawide for my pc) and I haven't had any problems with it (it is gsync compatible, supposedly)

Try this monitor out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07MJCF5N4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

I have it and the colors and brightness is great and the motion is smooth. The blacks are definitely a big improvement from when I used to have a 4K IPS monitor. This monitor goes up to 144 hz refresh with Freesync 2. It is also a 1440p VA panel.

Speaking of AOC 1440p 144hz freesync monitors, just ordered a pair of these, hopefully they end up being good. They come Friday so here's hoping.

u/billyturtle · 1 pointr/buildapc

This is probably more monitor than this system needs. Do you need an IPS monitor?

What about a FreeSync VA panel like the AOC Agon AG273QCX. It seems to come in and out of stock, but is usually $299. Then you could go with a 5700 xt like the the Sapphire Pulse or Nitro+ which would be a step up from the 2060 Super but only cost a little bit more.

If you cut back on the monitor a little, you could move up a notch on the quality of the memory, storage, and power supply.

u/7daysftw · 1 pointr/Monitors

you mean this AOC Agon AG273QCX? AOC one is VA panel.

u/Nawrly17 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

The monitor you have currently is really solid! I personally, would not bother upgrading just for deeper color, especially for games. But since I'm here to help:

VIOTEK GFT27DB 27” - 329.99 - https://viotek.com/gft27db-27-inch-wqhd-gaming-monitor-speaker-gsync-compatible/

This one is still a TN panel, but its the right size and it boasts 115% sRGB color gamut.

AOC AG273QCX - $499.99 https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG273QCG-Curved-Monitor-DisplayPort/dp/B07MJCF5N4?th=1

There is also a G sync version that is a lot more expensive. It's VA, 1ms response, the 3000:1 static contrast usually seen in VA panels (IPS & TN are usually 1000:1).

27" CHG70 Gaming Monitor with Quantum Dot - 499.99 - https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/27--chg70-gaming-monitor-with-quantum-dot-lc27hg70qqnxza/#reviews

VA Samsung monitor that seems to check all the boxes.

Hope these suggestions help! Sorry I couldn't find cheaper ones.

OK, since you seem to be in the US I would suggest the Viotek GN27D - I have this monitor and I think it's very impressive in terms of smoothness and color. A few people have complained about dead pixels with this one but my unit seems to be fine.

One downside of this monitor is that the stand is kind of cheap and flimsy, but that's not a huge deal.

Here's an alternative from AOC, though I admittedly don't know a ton about this one. There's also this AOC monitor which is only $230 for a 1440p/144Hz Freesync display, but it's only 24".

How is this monitor compared to the MSI?
Great deals always come after I buy something lol.

u/Cometdude2 · 1 pointr/buildapc

This is the exact one I am thinking about.......also have this on the list because it is a VA panel. Just not sure if the free sync plays nice with Nvidia.
