Here you go

The m50 pads are alot more plush than the stock monoprice pads. Softer and flatter while also being bigger so that they don't rest directly on your ears like stock but almost completely circumaural, the majority of your ear fits inside, way more comfortable

I bought mine a year ago and the pads weren't awesome. I bought These guys and they are literally the smoothest softest thing I have ever felt. Highly recommend.

I have the 700mk2, but I have not listened to the m50s. While I can't compare the two, I can say that the mids and highs are great for the $175. When I first got them I was underwhelmed by the bass, mostly because the only other decent headphones I listened to at the time were beats. The bass doesn't overpower the music at all, but it definitely lets you know it's there.

I got these pads. They are much better than the stock pads. Iv'e also seen people use Beyerdynamic pads, but I have not tried it.

The only thing I dislike about the 700mk2 is that you can only use the stock cables due to the screw in feature. You can open them up and remove the piece of metal with the threads, but I believe it is possibly the ground. I don't recommend doing this at all because the last pair I had, I removed it then a few days later the left speaker blew out.

You won't be disappointed by either headphones, but the 700mk2 seems to fit your needs the best

These Are the offical replacements by Audio Technica, but you can find cheaper aftermarket pads that are similar to these (rather than velour pads) if you're tight on budget.

Nice, let me know if you ever have the same problems. They are nice phones though aren't they? I love the sound they produce. I'm thinking about some Senhausen's to use at home and compare I think. If you do find some nice velour ones that fit, let me know.

I got these pads to replace the ones I started with. But now they are drying out like the originals. But if you don't have problems any problems like I do, then maybe getting new pads each year might be good enough. As a bonus, when I got the replacements, they were very much softer than the originals.

I love my ATH-M50x headphones, but I agree, they do get uncomfortable after a few hours. I ended up buying these replacement ear pads and now my headphones are perfect, I can wear them all day super comfortably. And the quality is fantastic!
