> I remember seeing the ones with no neck snapper thing but just the glue

Then you aren't remembering correctly. PETA has long criticized glue traps as being particularly cruel. The traps they used to sell were just catch and release type traps. You might have simply assumed there was glue in them?

Oh man this happened to us. Even worse we have seriously large gap under our front door so we had to stuff that with towels. We bought 3 models of live catch traps. She wouldn’t go near any of them until we got this model.

traps that look like mouse tubes

We put peanut butter and a piece of chocolate in it and stuck it behind our refrigerator (because she was living in/under it). She was out for a week and we had to do re-introductions. Switched to a bin cage then and there.

I wanted to suggest a humane alternative to mousetrap, something like this, in case you had not considered about this and had only known about the old mousetraps

[this is one] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000DINGG/ref=sxts_kp_bs_lp_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=8778bc68-27e7-403f-8460-de48b6e788fb&pd_rd_wg=1Vx0e&pf_rd_r=2XM3G3B2WQNHC1JCH97N&pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-top-slot&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B0000DINGG&pd_rd_w=I0tp1&pf_rd_i=havahart&pd_rd_r=37ae78d1-67aa-4529-8a2b-11f0b892e96f&ie=UTF8&qid=1536472410&sr=1)

this is another one

I've got the first one; I catch the rats in this and let out in the field near my home. The one in that link is very tiny but they make a lot of sizes. (You can get them at construction stores too, at least that's where I found, I didn't get it on amazon.)

Thank you very much for not using a glue trap
