Not to my knowledge but they do make plastic model kits. At the end of the day it's all the same thing. They use similar materials and similar processes to make a similar product. Banpresto, Tamiya, Testors, GW all make plastic model kits. Sure, in GW's case the models are used differently but that doesn't matter from a manufacturing standpoint. Their shit is over priced. When Banpresto can sell me a model that has far more parts and is far larger for less money, you know GW is fucking you.

If they still made their figures out of pewter that would be different but it's the same shit as anyone else and Banpresto has colored parts that are more accurate with detail and require less cleanup before assembly. Like I said, they have likely the most advanced model kits on the market.

Take their real grade gunpla kits for example. They have an extreme parts count, a great deal of poseability and detail and you can buy them for $20 online. Physically they are around the size of the vehicle kits GW puts out but a fraction of the cost.

Some are typical sales, others are actually pretty good. All have available free shipping. There's still more too.

Basically, things sold by Toy shop japan hobbyone tend to be a little cheaper with good shipping. They do have an issue with a few things that appear to not be HGs listed as HGs though.

The rail guns are definitely Freedom 2.0 though which is a 1/100 MG. Here's the RG Freedom* the rail guns don't have the stylish fins and the barrels are completely different. Also here is the RG Strike Freedom* the wings look nothing like in OP's picture where they're sleeker, sharper and better detailed than the RG's. Even the 1/100 MG Strike Freedoms* are bland and thick compared to OP's. They do however look like the Dragon Momoko 1/100 Metal Build ver Strike Freedom*

  • Stupid google won't let me link to individual pictures anymore so i have to use amazon or other websites, sorry.

Wow. Actually I'm building a similar one, the 05 Freedom

The 1/60 looks so much more ornate - I'd be all over that if I knew what I was doing.

The biggest part of japanese culture for me growing up (Other than cars) has been Gundams! So I submit one of my favourites: The Freedom
