MG Sazabi is a beast of a kit, and it's just barely under $100 on Amazon at the moment.
Any version of the Unicorn Gundam is a good pick, though I'm not sure on Prime availability.
HG Kshatriya with Prime is ~$60.
Maybe a variation on the Sinanju? Stein, Ver. Ka, or Animation Color
I think I'm somewhere between your taste and mechanized flaming eagle wings. This first one is especially a blend between spacecraft aesthetic and medieval armor, but it doesn't exactly fit the bill as being a realistic war machine.

Yeah it's a rip off, but there's also mad shipping when you buy from usage I think, could be wrong
I saw you rejected the Nu and Hi Nu for being over $60 but the Sinanju Stein is only $63! So that's my recommendation.
That, or I'll second the Tallgeese I I saw somewhere. MG Ball Ver Ka is cheap and very cool. Not much of an "MG" building experience though since it's so small and a simple design. If you like the design, the freedom 2.0 is nice.
