I have this Belkin 7-port USB hub sitting on my desk. Everything I've plugged into it has worked.

Sorry about the loss. Not too be too harsh, but that hub looks like total shit. I wouldn't have trusted it to begin with. Those crappy little DC adapters aren't up to the task. The last USB hub I bought was this and it came with a 3.8A quality power supply.

Ah okay, I'm currently using a belkin 7 port with a power supply rated at 3.5 to 3.8 amps.

But you only get 5 on top and 2 on bottom which is a strange layout and the only reason I haven't tried filling all 7 ports.

I've used this USB hub for powering my RPi accessories and charging my phone/tablet. It's been perfect for all of those.
