I have a bad neck and it is hard for me to look behind. I must have a mirror. Mirricle makes styles of handlebar mirrors. The glass/optical quality is good. I use the mountain bike version with bars more on the flat side. They do make mirrors for drop bars too.
The mount and handlebar style are the challenges. I was trying some butterfly trekking bars and found this Bicyclestore brand with a rubber mount similar to many headlight mounts.
