I used to bike ride with stabilizing wheels. They were pretty much impossible to find like 15 years ago, but these days you can find then on Amazon. It's not quite the same as a normal 2 wheel bike, but it eliminates a lot of the bulk.
I am going to tell you something different!
I have a friend with balance issues, and he rides his bike all the time. He is older in his late 30's but he is not afraid or ashamed to use those wheels that helps you to stabilize the bike. Once you gain confidence you could remove those wheels !
