+1 it's probably not going to be loud enough, but if you've got all the parts give'r a go. You'll find out pretty quick how well it's going to work.

I do have a suggestion for a relatively cheap, not too too kludgey audio solution. Buy a small amp and a pair of cheap speakers, will run you ~$50, here's the pair I chose - (amp, speakers)
You can then play music off your mp3 player, phone, or whatever.
In the future, if you get a replacement radio with amp-out you can hook it in and roll.

Mounted my amp under the dash for ease of access to the input ports. Speakers are in front of the back seats pointing forward. Couldn't find any kickpanels I liked so that's where they are, works alright.
Pics of my install - (amp, speakers)

Alternatively, one of those 120v adapters and a used boombox in your passenger seat.

Hi everyone, I recently turned a set of car speakers I had laying around into a set of standard sit down speakers that are setup in my house to play music, I am currently using an old power supply from a computer (capable of 650 watts) to drive the amplifier I bought (BOSS Audio 2 channel 200 Watt). I've been looking around for a better quality and much smaller form factor power supply capable of driving this amp that also does not introduce as much noise into the system as the PC power supply does. I thought I'd be able to pop onto amazon and find one within a few clicks but I was sadly mistaken. I think I need a simple 200 watt 12v power supply to drive this properly. The hitch is that I have no idea what specific power supply is correct for this application. Does anyone have some quick solutions they have used or know would work off the top of their head?
