I doubt you have HDMI inputs on your pc, but outputs will work. :) You need one of these, a display port to mini display port dongle, and the wacom link. If you don't have USB3 you'll need to get an add in card as well. With the exception of some laptops like macbook pro, most computers do not have true thunderbolt 3 connectors so most of us are using the link.

Craigslist, search for Apple Cinema Display, and pray that it actually works.

Couple important notes:

  • Apple Cinema Displays come in 24", 27", and 30" varieties. The 27" 1440p model is the newest, and replaced the outgoing 24/30" models. Go with the 27".
  • Avoid the Apple Thunderbolt Display. Same display, Thunderbolt ONLY connection. Won't work on any modern GPU, and very few motherboards support it.
  • The older ACD supports Mini DisplayPort (with USB hub and really good integrated speakers, by monitor standards). You may need a MiniDP to DP adapter to use with your GPU, but those are fairly cheap.
  • Because it's easy to confuse the Cinema and Thunderbolt models, and MiniDP is the termination point, buy the adapter first, bring it with you, and try it on a Windows PC (theirs or yours). • If you get one, consider a colorimeter. They have a fixed brightness level, high white point (overly cool), and low gamma (1.8-2.0). This results in a very bright image that some like, but isn't close to accurate.

Have you used the included Wacom's Link Adapter? If so, would a DisplayPort (male) to Mini DisplayPort (female) Adapter work?

For example

My GTX 960 only has DisplayPort and not mini DisplayPort.

I don't have any experience with expansion cards, but I'm very sure the monitor would use the integrated graphics instead of the 1080. You could use something like this instead.

HDMI to DisplayPort
DisplayPort male to MDP female

Here's the thing though - it's not a displayport connector, it's Apple (tm)(r) Thunderbolt (tm)(r). So even though it's all pin-compatible, it probably won't work.
