You're probably not looking for more recommendations but I've ordered three of these (one for me and two for my indecisive wife).

They're Polyurethane, not plastic but gives the phone a good grippy feel, while leaving it looking like an HTC One.
All three arrived looking exactly like they should. Very happy.
It all depends on what kind of case you're after.
For me, I like a case that's as thin as possible. I think the M8 is built so well that putting a larger case on it only detracts from the phone itself. My main gripe with handling the phone 'naked' was that it would sometimes be a little slippery.
I ended up going with this case, specifically the satin black model. It's essentially a slightly rubberized skin that fits over the phone. It has just enough shock absorption to protect from small falls and drops, but otherwise leaves the phone's aesthetics untouched (I actually think the phone looks better with the case on, making it look more sleek while also covering up the lame Verizon tramp stamp).
I'd highly recommend this case, but as I said cases are a pretty subjective thing so your mileage may vary.
