Weapons are very restricted in the UK. My ex and I used to go to the park and play baseball, I still have the mitt and several bats. This is my favourite :-)

Personally I believe the Cold Steel Indian War Club would be a most effective Zombie killing weapon.
Assuming you could sidestep the 'cone of doom' being the hands and mouth of a zombie and can land a successful blow, it'd destroy a zombie skull.
Cold Steel also makes a bat. I feel the bat requires too much room to accurately swing and with such a large surface area the impact would be too spread to be very effecting for anything more than smacking a single zombie in the head in the middle of the street.
The club's spike however focuses that initial impact into a smaller surface area increasing the likelihood of a critical impact all in a weapon designed to be wielded with one hand. The spikes initial hole in the skull would weaken the surrounding skull allowing the club to finish it's job in fewer impacts than the bat.
