This dongle paired with DS4W is a god send. I used to have everything hooked up with wires and that was a huge pain in the ass. Also using a bluetooth dongle with windows 7 didn't work for shit, even after countless tinkering. I bought the ps4 dongle separate. Plugged it in, hit the button to pair, picked up the controller immediately, and DS4W picked it up right after. I haven't had any issues with it not working on any games.

However there is one flaw, and that is if you want to hook up another controller you will have to buy another dongle. Sucks, but buying a second dongle will allow you to hook up another controller.

Works like a champ, and doubles my battery life. and now I can use that bluetooth dongle I bought originally to hook up the controller with, to that chatpad.

yup, you use the keyboard attachment like a normal attachment and the ds4 touchpad becomes the mouse, although it initially needs some tweaking for sensitivity / button clicking. i use this program to configure it:

Disclaimer: its a bit awkward and first. takes a while to tweak and get use to typing while using the controller. so be prepared for that if you decide to go this route

Edit: you can also use the gyroscope for mouse to. like tilting you controller to move the mouse. thats how i have it now

i have the keyboard to controller attachment with the mini-keyboard and it's not too bad, also functions as a controller battery extender. it is very literally a step up from using your on-screen interface and a step below using a usb keyboard/bluetooth keyboard. it is pretty cheap and light and fits into the controller in such as way that it doesn't make the controller uncomfortable at all. I have had no problems with it and in fact just leave it plugged in to the controller 100% of the time.

When I was playing a lot, I used a keyboard that attached to my ps4 controller. It plugged into the mic slot that is under the PS button so the keyboard sat in between the handles of the controller. Here is an Amazon link to the one I have.

I've used this for literal years. It's started acting up now in year uh.... 5? But it still trucks along when I need it to and it's so much a part of my playtime that the PS4 controller feels weird without it when I play other games

I tried this solution with a PS4 controller chatpad, but the damn thing goes idle after like 5 minutes and it has about a 5 second wake-up time. I eventually couldn't take it anymore and found a different solution.

Regardless, this is the first online multiplayer game I've ever played that doesn't have voice chat built in, yet requires more teamwork and communication to play than most other online games. Almost a must have really.
