Uhhh -- why not? Switches are cheap, and if you added one with (number of ports you need) + 1, you could even connect an access point to it to resolve both problems...
I had that same switch and have had no issues what-so-ever with Gb connections even on long 75-100ft runs. I'd try and exchange it; if not try these DLink switches which work great and have 16Gbit switching fabric which means all 8 ports can transmit and receive their full duplex 1Gb connections. I say 8 Ports because, the Dlink following is an 8 port 1Gb switch at the same price as their 5 port gigabit switch and would allow you to connect your ATV and Roku to the same switch. https://www.amazon.com/D-link-8-Port-Unmanaged-Gigabit-GO-SW-8G/dp/B008PC1MSO/
I don't understand why you want a separate switch for the ATV/Roku unless you absolutely need them on a separate network. Having 100Mb devices on a gigabit switch will not slows things down or impact network performance. It is much more cost effective to just purchase that 8 port gigabit switch and have room to upgrade in the future for a replacement or additional ATV/Roku boxes that do have gigabit connections. But if you must: for $12.95; the DLink 8 port costs less than the 5 port ($15)

Hope this helps.
Are you looking for managed or unmanaged switch?
Among the unmanaged switch, I think D-Link 8-Port Unmanaged Gigabit (GO-SW-8G) ($20) closely matches the aesthetics of Eero. Well, within the low expectation of how switches are expected to look.
I use the managed version of NETGEAR 8-port Unmanaged (GS908) ($27), which also looks decent, and it has the benefit of cable management (provided your Ethernet cables aren't too thick). I use more expensive managed version because I like to cap the bandwidth of certain devices.
TP-Link that many are recommending is also very nice, but all my routers and smart home hubs are white, so I filtered my selection to white.
I'd recommend the ARRIS SURFboard over the Netgear CM600. I like Netgear products but the SURFboard is the internet's favorite cable modem.
The Netgear Nighthawk S8000 is a switch, not a router. That'd be good for when you're ready to run ethernet to get off Wi-Fi. However, "gaming" switches aren't really necessary unless you're on a blazing fast internet connection. If you need a switch, you'd be fine with something cheaper, like this D-Link GO-SW-8G.

D-link GO-SW-8G is often bought together with Google Wifi according to Amazon. Is it pretty enough?

Or NETGEAR GS208.
