Sure, it's a Dell UltraSharp U2414H. It's really nice and the Fast charge USB on the back of it is really useful.

So I am looking to buy a computer screen to get better image quality for my post-prod, however I don't know much about it, so I was wondering if you guys could help me pick one. I am trying to stay under 200£ a 23-25 inch screen.
I found two that do look nice, however I am not sure

Yeah there the 24" (or 23.8" technically), these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00H3JIGHA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

Their incredible!

It was a choice between another two of these or an Xbox One, I believe i made the right choice :)

Dell do a number of options. Surprisingly, Dell are actually very good monitor manufactures.

P2314H

P2414H

Or spend that little bit more and get a more modern Ultrasharp U2414H.

But type in "Dell IPS" into Amazon and you'll get a lot of responses. The latter, the Ultrasharp, is good.

u/ZyreHD · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Seeing you mention drawing, I guess you'll want to have IPS for the most accurate colors.

Have you looked at the Dell UltraSharp U2414H? Here is a link:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B00H3JIGHA

It isn't 144hz, which would be handy for gaming, but it will give the most accurate colors. This is the 1080p model. There is also the U2515h, which is 1440p, but it's double the cost.

u/pad117 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

If you do, have a look at this one, the quality is fantastic and the bezels are tiny. The price isn't bad either.

u/SawGex · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have asked several friends and they say an IPS monitor is much better than going for matching. So, I have decided to order the Dell UltraSharp U2414H on Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00H3JIGHA)

Thank you.

Praise GabeN!

it looks even better in rl!
Here you go :)

One thing about the Ultrasharps is that some of them have a fairly aggressive anti glare coating. This is obviously useful in some situations but can make things appear a bit grainy especially when compared to Apple's glossy glass displays.

My friend recently got this newer model and the anti glare seems much less aggressive and the display is bright and clear:

I don't like recommending TN panels that aren't 144Hz, so if you want high refresh rate and low response time then http://de.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-vg248qe is probably the best option within your budget.

If you don't mind ~7ms response time and 60Hz in return for better color quality then an IPS will be your way to go. http://www.amazon.de/Dell-LED-Monitor-Reaktionszeit-h%C3%B6henverstellbar-schwarz/dp/B00H3JIGHA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427377807&sr=8-1&keywords=U2414H is a very nice IPS monitor.

Been looking at Dell UltraSharp U2414H display. Anybody have any experience of it? Or alternatively any suggestions for similar displays(24" 1080p IPS panel).

This is a Haswell-build. That means that it uses the older 1150 socket, because the performance is virtually equal and the price significantly cheaper currently. If you prefer Skylake with DDR4, just say so and I'll deliver.

The thing to explain here is the i7. A normal gaming PC does not necessarily need this. Fallout 4 however profits a lot from additional threads, also other games will have better minimal FPS, and it will be more future proof.

A solid cheap keyboard you could add is http://www.amazon.de/CHERRY-KC1000-corded-Keyboard-ultraflat/dp/B00F35N0VI. But sure, there are many options.

300€ for the display means you have choice. If you want a 144Hz Freesync display, the AOC G2460PF would be an interesting pick. But it has a TN panel. For Photoshop/Lightroom and general color consistency an IPs panel would be better, like the Dell U2414H – I have the small brother of the Dell and it is a great display.

I'd definitely have a look at the Dell ultrasharp U2414H, I got this monitor for Christmas and I really like it. It's currently £180 on Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B00H3JIGHA

u/Crisis_Averted · 1 pointr/buildapc

Here's my stuff:

Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.20GHz
8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. B85M-D2V
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Gigabyte)
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 380 Series (Gigabyte)

I wouldn't be able to upgrade the CPU as well. And hm, so far i'm leaning towards keeping this GPU too for one more year. :/

Thanks for the productcharts.com link. I had already used it but it showed only one result at 27" +75Hz. And it was a 1080p, which as far as i know is a bad combo with 27", right? I had it set for UK which cut down a lot of the results, maybe i should've just used it set to the US.

If i downgrade my expectations to 24" and 60Hz, i get two results (though certainly there are many more compatible monitors out there, right? Why do i see so few on that site?):
Dell UltraSharp U2414H which i might be able to buy locally for $250, and
ViewSonic VP2468.

Hm but you say i could go 27" 4K IPS? Oh lot's of options there! Oh man my head will explode.
The least expensive ones are LG 27UD68P and AOC U2777PQU.
Would they be poor choices?

u/Avenfisher · 1 pointr/buildapc

Does anyone have any experience with this monitor http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B00H3JIGHA ?

Been thinking of buying it , but would like to hear some opinions on it first.

u/danzey12 · 1 pointr/buildapc

So is it good to assume then, that with a close to TN response time and good colours an ips monitor is good for gaming, I was originally looking at the no. 1 best seller on Amazon some benQ thing but it's a TN and you say the colour is utter shit , here it is. The problem is the cheapest dell ultrasharp, is this which is expensive, not 24" although that's not too important and has an 8ms response time, it does look a lot nicer though.
My budget on this was like £150, I found this which is 1080p, ips, 24" with 5ms response, is it any good, it seems to be the same price as other 21.5 ips monitors, im worried it's a piece of cheap crap.
Aside from that do you have any suggestions for £150 or $235 according to google.

u/cadavra41 · 1 pointr/Monitors

For freesync, most monitors that have it will likely be out of your price range so unless you hate screen tearing I would say don't prioritize it.

TN panels have faster response times but lose color at an angle, IPS are a bit slower but have more vibrant colors and don't have as much color shift at an angle.

I have 3 monitors I would recommend, the freesync is out of your price range slightly but is about as full featured a 1080p monitor you can get.

1080p 144Hz TN Freesync

1080p 144Hz TN

1080p 60Hz IPS

Quick edit: most of the monitors with those features have moved on to 2560x1440 resolutions or higher so your options are going to be limited.

Alright, changed a few things.

I'm no expert in coolers really, but I've always heard that noctua ones are the best air coolers out there, while corsair usually has the most popular AIO water coolers, so you could start you research from this (example of corsair water cooler)

I put in a better mobo which should, in theory, be more reliable (although I'm not sure that's true. Some people claim that ASRock mobos are not as reliable as asus, msi or gygabyte ones since they cost less, while others claim that they don't give any problem. Not sure where the truth lies. Anyway this asus one also as a few cool things, like auto-OC. Also keeps the usb 3.1 A and 3.1 C as the asrock mobo).

kb+m, added the best ones out there, your choice now (ps the corsair k70 costs 144 on amazon though, 187 with RGB. PCPartPicker has it wrong :/. The logitech g502 is also much cheaper)

As for the monitor it really depends on the gpu and on your needs. If you are ok with a 1080p panel and you want an nvidia gpu, get a good IPS panel and be done with it. (example 1, example 2, example 3).

G-Sync monitors are usually waaay to pricy. Seriously, nvidia should cut the shit down, it's stupid that you can't get a gsync monitor for under 500€...

If you instead go the red route, you can get a freesync monitor cheaply on amazon (but they usually aren't IPS). (example 1-75hz, example 2-144hz)

If you want a higher res panel, then you should get a 1440p one. Gaming at 4K is not really feasible IMHO, even with a gtx1080. (example 1, example 2)

If you do a lot of editing and stuff you could also be interested in a 21:9 monitor (example 1example 2, example 3)

edit: high end new gen amd cards come out this winter BTW. Check news for Vega architecture.
