I bought these. Work perfectly for old homes like ours.

If you want something that still looks nice, I'd go with the magnetic locks. Otherwise I recommend the ugly handle llocks, since my 14 month old could open the inside safetly latches. Either way, there is no 'non pain in the butt' childproofing.

Just go to Walmart near the plastic things that you put in electrical outlets, presumably the "baby proofing" area. It may be in home improvement or baby section.

It's two pieces of plastic. One screws to the inside of the cabinet, and the other screws to the cabinet door.

It creates a locking mechanism so the door/drawer only opens 1.5" or so, then you push down on the tab that catches so you can fully open the door.

Related: I spent HOURS baby proofing my house. My daughter who was about 15 months old, realized after trying to open two cabinets, that she couldn't get in there. She gave up hope, after about 5 minutes..... Then I just found them to be a pain in the ass.

Edit: These are what I'm referring to, but there's several options out there. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003NSAY7U/ref=mh_s9_acsd_top_bBI9D9_c_x_3_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=mobile-hybrid-3&pf_rd_r=X6PNMWTRMH1FQ72EFYR7&pf_rd_t=30901&pf_rd_p=732a8f8d-f87a-515f-9bfc-1234248d3eaf&pf_rd_i=166865011
