Glad it was helpful! I was given like 15 Fuzzibunz perfect size Mediums and the elastics were all super relaxed, poop was constantly escaping out the legs. It was my bedtime project for two months and I still haven't fixed up the smalls because I got BURNT OUT on sewing elastics, but the mediums all fit great now because of this method.

Make sure you use heat resistant elastic for longevity (I used this, which is resistant up to like 199 F or something way hotter than my hot wash), and a non-wicking thread, like rayon or poly. And avoid poking through the PUL the best you can, you should be able to attach the new elastic to the old elastic and microfleece layers securely, then just stitch up the new little hole in the fleece, all without seeing through the outer layer of PUL. A couple pokes here and there aren't terminal, but if it's a lot of pokes you might end up leaking through your needle holes.
