Get one of these for your room. Then lock it up and keep it locked since she can't behave like a fucking adult and NOT BREAK THINGS like a child. It's the most amazing vacuum I have ever owned. https://www.amazon.com/Dyson-Animal-Cordless-Vacuum-Cleaner/dp/B06XG7WKKL/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=dyson+wall+vacuum&qid=1566086180&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Definitely declutter. Less stuff = less surfaces to clean.

I also try to be very aware of my habits and create systems around them.

For instance, instead of kicking my shoes off in a random spot near the door, I now rest them under my end-of-bed-bench. My most used shoes are easily accessible but out of sight.

Also, you know the chair? The chair that everyone has that turns into a mountain of clothes? In an ideal world, our worn-but-not-dirty-enough-for-the-laundry clothes would be hung back up into the closet where they belong... but I am (and my boyfriend is also) way too lazy for that.

So instead of tossing them onto the chair, we recently purchased one of those cute woven baskets that people usually use for displaying chic blankets in the living room and put it next to the end-of-bed-bench in our bedroom. It’s become our catch all. It’s small enough that we have to exercise some adulting to keep it from overflowing and becoming an eyesore but not so small that it’s not functional.

I’m all about efficiency, so creating little systems like this for myself has really made a world of difference.

I also recommend looking into a cordless dyson vacuum. It’s lightweight but still pretty damn powerful - and way less cumbersome than dragging out a huge vacuum. It’s so easy to just pick it up and do a quick once-over of the room. Since it’s not a huge production I do better at staying on top of that particular facet of cleaning.

Edit: added a link to the vacuum.
