It depends on the way the vents on your laptop are set up. In either case, I’d recommend getting a cooling pad to set your laptop on to help. Laptops already get hot, so cooling pads almost always help in some sort of way, and they’re usually cheap ($15-$30).
You can just set the cooling pad over the mousepad, with the laptop onto of the cooling pad

It's pretty efficient. All you have to do is plug the USB into the laptop.
You're gonna need a cooling pad that has fans far up back so the air flow can effectively get into it's ventilation. Even if it doesn't cool that well a cooling pad is nice to have around for when you want to use a laptop on your lap while also elevating or on your desk elevated with something underneath it that can allow air to travel through it's bottom and have heat disperse among the surface quicker even when off. You're probably going to need a pad like these

As the others have said not only should you undervolt it but you should also repaste it. That combined should knock off at least 20 degrees Celsius especially if you use liquid metal paste.
