I use this one for my HD 8. It works great and just looks like I'm carrying a notebook (the kind with pages). I need to get some sort of mouse.

They keyboard is hella small, but i also have small hands. I used it during university writing notes for lectures in google docs, microsoft words, powerpoints, etc. I think the fire 7 might be just a tad too small though! i got it for the same reason u said, my laptop was too bulky to bring to school and carry around so i went for this cheap tablet with magnetic case/keyboard, it worked well! i used onedrive/ google drive to store my notes and access on laptop at home!
