Yeah I had never thought of that. Someone else suggested I get spring water or snow/rain water. I think I will buy some spring water tomorrow since precipitation will be scarce for a while.
Also I was thinking as far as the window thing goes... there are these cat window sill things you can attach to the window and the cat will sit on them. I could get one of those and use them for my air plants to get proper sun in the bathroom they're in (since the window is not next to the counter).
