Amazon has them. There are tons of them.

You really just need 4 suction cups, twine, and a platform

u/soprettyvacant · 51 pointsr/cats

Not OP but I bought mine from Amazon

My cat loves hers . It did take about a month before she worked up the nerve to try it though. But now she only leaves it for food and bathroom breaks.

I purchased the Kitty Cot. I personally would say it's overpriced for what it is (PVC piping and plastic mesh), but it's held up to my kitty's weight and I'm too lazy to build my own.

u/sleepykitten12 · 20 pointsr/brushybrushy

I got it off Amazon! It had the best reviews and seems super sturdy. Apparently each suction cup is rated to hold 15lbs! It’s called Original Kitty Cot “World’s BEST Cat Perch” .

im on mobile so sorry for the gross link, or if it doesn't work. i found it on amazon under "mounted cat tree." It doesn't come with the little cloths on the perches, so i used some stick on carpeting and just slapped it right on there.

It’s called Kitty Cot and runs about $45. Holds both of my cats at once (20+ lbs) and they love it. All suction, but it’s sturdy.

I don't know a whole lot but I do know that you should reduce triggers (which you have by controlling your dog), stimulate them to help them release energy (because some cats release energy through aggression; you could spend some time playing with the cat if it will tolerate your presence), and not touching the cat when it's angry and instead redirecting its attention with a toy or noise by like shaking a jar of pennies. Another thing that sometimes works is giving the cat scratching posts and places to perch. My cats were not aggressive but they were definitely too energetic so I made them a cardboard house with three stories and got a window hammock (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Window-Suction-Hammock-Resting-Shelves/dp/B01M260Q0M/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1519850830&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=cat+hammock&psc=1). Once they had places to jump that they felt were their dominion they calmed down a lot. Maybe the aggressive cat wants a place to be his and a window hammock is a cheap way to give him a safe space. And also, if you give him lots of treats when he is being nice that can help reward good behavior.

I bought this one about two and a half years ago and only had a suction cup slide once a couple months back. I ordered a new one thinking the suction cups were going bad, but the old one is still holding strong.

Cat shelves may be an option if you have an empty wall or two or a doorway you wouldn't mind having a cat bridge crossing, and either are handy yourself or have access to someone who is, or have disposable income.

All that to say this: here are some ideas for you if they're feasible.

Totally fine! Here’s the link to the one I bought:

ZALALOVA Cat Window Perch, Cat... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMTBVZ1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It’s always on sale—I got it for about $15 USD and the twins love it. It’s also super durable considering Noxie (fluffy boy!) will eat everything in his path and hasn’t been able to even start to chew through the wires holding it up.
It make take your girlie a little getting used to, be prepared to have the thought “well that was a waste”, because, at least with my two, they definitely didn’t take to it right away, but they’re obsessed with it now.
Tip: it was just a little too big for my window with the bottom suction cups on, but it’s got enough leeway that you can actually just have the seat resting in the sill and it’ll still be nice and safe.
Hope she loves it!

I've seen cat shelves that look pretty nice, and they are kinda the same concept as a tower. They install into the wall and are pretty DIY. Here is an example of something you could do, actually pretty cheaply if you do it yourself! Alternatively, here is a smaller cat shelf that is available on Amazon if DIY isn't your thing. :)

u/lawdlc1962 · 2 pointsr/bengalcats

Not trying to advertise...I have no interest in or connection to this product, but....we bought two and our Bengals LOVE them...especially in the summer...they soak up the heat/sun through the window and love watching critters outdoors...suction cups keep it firmly mounted to window (doesn't work well on windows with small individual panes). We mounted high on a sunroom window above a cat tree so they can escape to a high perch. https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-Mount-Window-Kitty/dp/B01CHMHR04/ref=sr_1_34?keywords=window+cat+seat&qid=1574772174&sr=8-34

u/PhantomAngel042 · 2 pointsr/Pets

I think as long as you give your new friend a lot of one-on-one time with you, and put up things like a cat tree and maybe a windowsill hammock for sun-bathing (like this: https://www.amazon.com//dp/B00FDU5JO4), a kitty would do just fine in your apartment, fully indoors. With plenty of love from you when you're home and toys to play with when you're gone, kitty will be okay alone during the day- although they do love company, so if it's possible to get 2 at the same time, who are already bonded, that would be ideal. Honestly 2 cats is really not much more effort than 1, you just have to budget a little more for food, vet, litter, etc.

The whole indoor/outdoor argument is really a personal choice- some people think it's cruel to keep cats inside all the time, some think it's the best and safest place for pet cats. I have had 4 indoor-only cats with me in as small a space as 450 sq ft (temporarily) and none of them is the worse for it. They're spoiled rotten and don't seem to realize that the outside world is anything more than a giant entertainment screen to be looked at through the back door for their amusement.

The only thing is, do not let a cat out onto the balcony unsupervised at the 5th floor, a fall from that height could be disastrous or even fatal. There are some cool cat tents you could use for some fresh air time though, they're small enough to fit on an apartment balcony. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002KWHE1E

And last of all, thank you for saying you'd like to adopt a cat. If you don't have a ton of time and energy to chase around a blazing ball of fluff and attitude, you may want to get an older cat rather than a kitten. Even by age 2 they've calmed down considerably from their demonic-possession kittenhood (and I say that in the most loving way possible), while still being lively and ready to play at the drop of a hat.

Best of luck to you. If you do get a fuzzball (or two) be sure to update and let us know!

u/winturgreen3 · 2 pointsr/airplants

Yeah I had never thought of that. Someone else suggested I get spring water or snow/rain water. I think I will buy some spring water tomorrow since precipitation will be scarce for a while.

Also I was thinking as far as the window thing goes... there are these cat window sill things you can attach to the window and the cat will sit on them. I could get one of those and use them for my air plants to get proper sun in the bathroom they're in (since the window is not next to the counter). Example here https://www.amazon.com/FURRY-BUDDY-Removable-Multiple-Placemat/dp/B078XRKPH5/ref=zg_bs_2975249011_34?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2JK32X25ATNXBJWXH45J

> Any more advice?

How about a window perch? Cats like to sit up above the ground, and she'll probably enjoy looking out the window.

I just installed this one. It was pretty easy.

They like it. I think they're planning Thanksgiving dinner.

u/sweep_27 · 2 pointsr/cats

You know what? I hear ya. But kitty cot stays put, for real.

You do have to clean the cups and the window before you put them up. The only time it has fallen is when I ignored that advice. It does not require frequent re-sticks.

u/acciocorinne · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I love animals! They truly are my passion. They really seem to have life figured out--pets love nothing more than spending time with their people, and I think that's what we should all try to focus on! I have a ton of cat stuff on my wishlist for my kitty, but this is most related to my love of pets, because my kitty loves to sit at the window and watch me when I'm outside! But the window ledge is tiny, so one day I want to buy her this seat so she can pretend to spend time with me more comfortably :)

u/princess_peach413 · 1 pointr/cats

In my experience, most apartments are more likely to let you have a cat than a dog, especially if its only one. You might just need to pay a little extra on the security deposit.

As far as keeping your cat entertained, my cat's love having a window perch like this that they can watch all the action outside! Beyond that, just remember to actively play with your kitty for atleast 20 minutes every day. It can be a pain when you're loaded up with school work and university social life, but you will have a much happier kitty if he/she is getting the right amount of exercise!

Yes of course! I got the window perch bed on amazon (here's a link!) and then put a soft cat bed-type pad on top. He spends hours in it every day. :)

u/8bitesq · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You need to get the Sims 4. I mean is there really anything else that's as frivolous and time consuming and yet satisfying as warping, shaping, and bending the lives of these poor electronic people to your every whim? I think not. I think not, /u/autumnwake! You kind of need to buy it. Now. And revel in the Simlish and awkwardly animated uncensored Whoo Hoo!

Okay, so, if I had ~$30 I know exactly what I would get. I want to get my cats a window perch. They look so sad trying to lay on the narrow windowsills. But we're treating me, right? So I'm not sure that works for your contest since it's not technically for me. If I were treating myself I'd definitely get Fables Deluxe Vol. 2.

u/weffey · 1 pointr/blog

I do! They are kitty cots. Both my cats have wrestled on a single one and it stayed attached no problem. I think the beige things they are laying on are standing pads or something like that to make it a little less static-ee (not that that's really possible here, but I can try).

I should note that on a "fat" day Willow comes in at just over 7lbs, and Milo's usually around 10.5lbs. They're not exactly chubby kitties.

u/catsloveyarn · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Not really. I bought one that looks like this from a thrift store, but it didn't work with my windows, so I took the legs off & the bed part is just sitting on a cardboard box. :P

u/ChimmyChimmyCocoPuff · 1 pointr/cats

One of those ones with the wire bristles is great for detangling and removing undercoat; they can also hurt after a bit, so be gentle. Don't press it down, get one with a heavy wooden handle and just rest it on him and drag it slowly and nicely. When he's had enough of that, see if he'll tolerate a finishing brush with soft bristles. It will help soften his fur and give him a little massage.

Cats love almost any warm, soft surface. My cats' favorite is microfleece. I have a microfleece blanket on the sofa for them to lay on, since it's easier to wash that than to shampoo the whole sofa. They lie on it, and they also love to "make bread" on it. IME, none of my cats have ever liked those pet beds they sell that are basically a mat you throw on the floor, so save yourself 20 bucks there. However, all cats I've ever met have loved window perches like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Kitty-Deluxe-Print-14-Inch-24-Inch/dp/B000795XMY/ref=sr_1_2?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1409283416&sr=1-2&keywords=cat+window+perch

The cat sounds like it's bored and has pent up energy. Pets are like little toddlers: If you dont entertain them, they will do it themselves and it can be destructive at times. Here are some things you can help redirect and expand say energy:

I think most of the ac unit actually sits outside, and the part that's inside wouldn't be big enough to hold a shelf or a cat. You might look into one of the shelves that use suction cups on the window like this, if the window is tall enough. There are lots of shelves on this principle, and they are rated for different weights.

How about a Kitty Cot? Couldn't find them on the Australian site, though...

I think every cat should have a tunnel, because they're so cute when they take a running leap straight through them!

The kitties at my local shelter love this sort of thing, but UGH money. This one isn't as fancy, but it's cheaper!

Since you said rent friendly, I'm assuming these are a bit out of price range, but Funky Cat has some of the cutest scratching posts I've seen.
