Amazon has a small inflatable screen here and I'd love to think a pico projector from monoprice would work, but I think those projectors have to work in complete darkness.
This could work for guerrilla/ temporary movie nights.
First this is an awesome gesture, and it being Malawi I can easily imagine the conditions.
I borrowed a friend's outdoor screen, and he had a simple 'HT in a box' setup he bought used from a garage sale (!). (I believe it was this one.
I'm not sure of your budget, but would suggest that a unit like this would be prone to failure - dependent on electricity, it may be better to get a dedicated non-inflatable screen (have to think about it being damaged, banged around etc).
You can go cheap(er) and get a projector, outdoor screen, outdoor speakers, and an amplifier and BluRay player (HTIB?), that's one way to go, perhaps needing a 220V inverter (Malawi is 220V btw), and you can provide a large trunk to hold all this stuff.
Or you can go with something like this already designed for packing into a case.
Lots of options for this, my only experience was a one-time outdoor 'let's borrow this unit for a birthday party'. Turned out that the borrowed projector wasn't very bright, the sound was okay but not that great, but for a group of 10-year olds watching Mrs. Doubtfire it kind-of worked.
Now with a dedicated basement HT I don't have much impulse to take it all outside, but that might just be me.
