I dont have a riding lawn mower, but we got one of those 1200lb gorilla carts. Thing is a beast! The handle does 360 degrees to switch to one of the smaller hitches designed for atv or riding mower.

I have a z10, and keep it stored on a cart with all terrain wheels like:

It makes it easy to take the scope from the garage to the back or front yard in one piece. I'll often even leave it on the cart for observing, but I'm pretty tall so that might not work as well for you. Still, it's easy enough to get it out of the cart and set it on the ground.

None of this helps with astrophotography of course, but if you do get an AP setup, you can load it up in the cart too and have your dob on hand for visible observing while capturing pictures.
