Well an old iPod is about $100, and probably doesn't have an image sensor as good as this one. Plus, how do you get the iPod to do motion detection and be weather resistant? All of a sudden, the price makes a bit more sense.
Go for a $180, lesser quality turret camera and the ipod makes no sense
If you don't need all the bells and whistles of a foscam(tilt/pan,wifi) then I highly recommend a hikvision for around the same price. It does 3 megapixel (2048 x 1536) resolution with h264 compression and can power over ethernet. I got a few of them for a business and I'll never go back to the other ip cams. A few of those with a PoE switch and blue iris and you've got a pretty high end system(for a house) for not much.
Indoor 15x15 = wide-angle turret camera. Something like this , which is cheaper than what you listed in your post. Dahua also has some relatively inexpensive ones that I like. Panasonic has their 360-degree offerings you can also take a look at, but they're very pricey.
Driveway + backyard = bullet-style camera. Something like this. I don't know how cold it gets where you're at, but get something that can hack cold temps if it gets chilly.
If you're setting up PoE on an ONVIF-compatible system, you can take advantage of any ONVIF-capable camera (Dahua, Hik, Lorex, HDCam, etc.).
I use those cameras every now and then. They have DWDR which is Digital Wide Dynamic Range. Its still really good and the majority of the cameras that i install have this type of WDR. Ive imported chinese Hikvision and imported straight from alibaba so any place you get them is fine its more just about the price. You might get a dud one here and there but that happens to everyone, so any supplier is fine.

The Hikvisions may not work with them, unless you can confirm that it will, I would stick to Lorex cameras. Looking at the Lorex cameras, most Hikvision models seem to have a Lorex equivalent.
A good general purpose PoE camera is the turret-style Hikvision 2332-I. The closest Lorex model seems to be this one.
