Hillbilly Impact Shorts
Great hip and tailbone protection for all action sports including skateboarding, longboarding, skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking.Features lightweight EVA foam padding, plastic tail bone protector, and breathable mesh fabric.Drawstring for extra adjustability and secure fit.If you are on the cusp between two sizes choose the smaller size if you prefer a tighter fit, or the larger size if you prefer a looser fit.We recommended a snug fit to prevent pads from moving upon impact.

ABSOLUTELY!

Here are the hilbilly ass pads I swear by! I feel they are excellent protection all around including tailbone. I also have the RED impact shorts and will sometimes wear both if I'm going crazy, but the RED shorts don't protect the tailbone nearly as well as the HillBilly's.

I would say the Demon Snow Flex force short that floppy linked are #2.

There is no shame in armoring up and anybody who says otherwise is a douche.

Hillbilly's I believe will be the most protection you can find for the money. https://www.amazon.com/Hillbilly-protective-gear-2704-Pad-Impact/dp/B002UHXY8G. I believe MBs.com is the original maker. My son wears triple 8 bumsavers. . I wear crash pants 100% of the time I skate pools and parks and whenever I'm pushing my DH comfort zone.

There are actually pads for your lower back, if by lower back you mean tailbone:

They’re more of a thing in the Rollerblading world though.

The rest of your back you really don’t need padding for, the main thing is just to have all of your vertices covered since 99% of the time that’s what absorbs the brunt of any impact.

I'm using Hillbilly wrist guards - half finger and Hillbilly impact shorts I've put them to good use and they're holding up great. If you're thinking about getting the shorts, double and triple check the sizing. When reading reviews, I saw a lot of people complaining about the sizing, so I ordered a size smaller than normal (medium instead of large) and they fit perfectly. phew
