if 13 inches will work, this is an amazing laptop according to the reviews. You can flip the screeen all the way over and use it like a tablet. A bit heavier, but I think this will be the most satisfying option in terms of build quality/performance/etc.

This is a great computer at a great price. If I could offer some help; people around here like specs and links with prices. I would suggest adding the following to the post:

No not really. Low resolution screen, low RAM, small SSD.
This is the same laptop, different and newer model
I recommend the HP Spectre x360 13-4003dx L0Q51UA 2-in-1 Intel Core i7, 256GB Solid State Drive, 8GB Memory 13.3-Inch Touch Screen Laptop Windows 8.1 - Natural Silver/Black (Certified Refurbished)
Yeah, I'm thinking about maybe changing my budget to something sub $1k. The Spectre you linked has a 512GB option that's $900 and pretty nice, and the ZenBook series has a couple interesting options (especially this one) that are right around the $1k mark.
The build quality on the ZenBooks are a major draw, and they seems reasonably affordable. I'm looking for something that's going to be better and more portable than the monster I have right now, but I'm willing to give up a bit of portability if it means I get something a bit more powerful.
I ordered this one off amazon which is a refurb but it looks and feels like a new laptop. The 4003dx is a 2015 model. I think I saw that they fixed the 2016 issues with active styli but if you want to order a new one you should contact HP and verify.

How does that look? EDIT: It didn't save my choice for some reason, I was wondering about the Windows 10 version with the 512gb SSD.
It seems fine to me, but the refurbished has me unsure, it seems like such a good value though.
What do you think of the HP Spectre x360? It's a bit more than what I have budgeted but looks like everything I want. I'm ok giving up the gaming aspect for a laptop that would be me more useful to me in school.
