Wow. You just use a 6v power supply on a 12v device? I got a 12v ripcord specifically for my octatrack but the amp output was too low... I ended up using this:

I never measured the amps being pulled by the monitor (when using the supplied power brick), but I did research a similar model which I believe uses the same panel to estimate the typical amps it would pull.


I did use a multimeter to confirm the voltage and polarity of the supplied power brick (just in case it was wrong). The power brick claims to support up to 2A, which is why I picked a USB step-up converter which claims also to support 12V@2A.


On top of keeping an eye on the temperature of the step-up module (purely by touch), I did measure the voltage/amps at the USB port. (This is when my backlight is at a modest 25/100 setting).
