It is slightly noticeable. I recently replaced the one I had and was surprised at how much nicer the screen looks without it, but I love the writing/drawing experience with it, so I won't turn back. There's also MUCH less glare, making it usable in almost direct sunlight. Also, you get two for, like, 8 bucks. I have a 9.7 Pro, but here's a link for the 10.5 ones:

This is the one I use. It works pretty well. Happy painting!

I don't think a clear screen protector would be the best of both worlds. Probably the opposite.

I've had a number of iPads and iPhones, and the only one I've preferred with a screen protector is the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. If you're not going to be using your pencil much (drawing, writing, photo editing, etc.), I wouldn't bother with one at all as it takes away from the beautiful retina display. The iCarez protectors are inexpensive and improve the accuracy and precision of the Apple Pencil; much easier to write/draw without it slipping.

Thanks. I used to have a matte screen protector on my old 12.9” iPad. Definitely degrades the screen quality a bit, but that paper-like texture and not having to worry about fingerprints made it worth it to me. Just to double check, this is the one you’re talking about?
