I've found they will chew this but so far they haven't gotten through to a cord and with 100 ft for $10ish I don't mind replacing the chewed bits every so often

I recommend split loom tubing for any future cord protection. the 3/8" is great for most cords and it's dirt cheap when you get the 100' coils.

You can use just about anything as a hiding spot. Cardboard boxes are great because they're free and easily replaced.

It would also be a good idea to cover any cords/cables with split tubing to prevent little teeth from severing connections.

You buy this and wrap it around the cords. My cat totally stopped eating cords.
