Those little plastic stack-able drawers have served me well, both the small desktop ones and the bigger ones, I have 3 big, 2 small, and another cool like art cart thing with a ton of shallow but big drawers. You have room for those bigger ones under there, I would probably recommend one with more, but smaller drawers for the materials it looks like you have. Something Like this that is a terrible expensive one and I would never buy that, but just an example. I have picked mine up from the side of the road/Goodwill. I have the small ones on my desktop.
I needed something which was easily accessible, large, and cheap. These ended up being ideal. I also put basic shelf liners in them to keep the minis from sliding around when you open and shut the drawers. I'm strongly considering a peg board for my tools and such, because I think it looks nicer and keeps stuff handy.
Right now most of our spare parts are in boxes and a cloth shopping bag. We're considering a drawer system, kinda like this one or something like that on the wall.
I use a toolbox on wheels that divides into ~10 sections for power tools, hand tools, screws, bolts, etc. etc. etc. (So I can roll that shit down to the cars when husband duties call)
I also use something like this for non tool materials and loose items. Heavy tools generally stay on the work bench and are bolted down where appreciate.
