I have a pair of bluetooth earbuds and I'm shocked that having my phone in my right pocket, versus my left, makes a noticeable difference in how often the signal cuts out. This is on top of the initial surprise that the signal cuts out at all from less than three feet away.
Something inexpensive like this would work, or if you wanted to spend more.
You would have much less danger with falling using earbuds/IEMs
Amazon has a good deal on Jaybirds. I have an equivalent pair that work very well.

I was about to buy them on the site when I saw amazon was cheaper by 11%. http://www.amazon.com/Jaybird-Freedom-Bluetooth-Earbuds-Fit-Bluetooth/dp/B005B28DOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331242782&sr=8-1
If you want Bluetooth (which I highly recommend), you've got two options that I've tried:
Ecsem Bluetooth Mini: Very cheap ($20), poor battery (~4hrs), poor sound quality (muffled treble), has play/pause/skip/volume controls, poor durability - I worked out in these all the time I think the sweat killed them after about 6 months. That being said they did work well for a while and for the cheap price they're definitely worth trying out if.
Jaybird JF3 Freedom: more expensive ($80), good battery (6-8hrs), good sound quality, good durability (sweat-proof coating and warranty), has play/pause/skip/volume controls. Just got these a month ago and am loving them so far, a great upgrade to the Ecsems.
Are these the original?

I ordered these as recommended from head-fi.org -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005B28DOM/
Can't tell you how they are yet as they arrive today -- but they were recommend for this puprose :)
Jaybird Freedom Bluetooth Earbuds, they periodically go on sale on amazon, I was able to get mine for $35! (currently on sale for$59.98) So far I've zero issue with these except forgetting to charge them once in a while
Amazon Reviews
It looks like this is their 2011 model, so you are getting what you paid for. Their latest models do run up to $160. I don't own them myself, but I'll probably save up for a better pair based on those reviews.
My bluetooth headphones were a great investment. These are the ones I have. I prefer them because I can switch the cord placement from front to back depending on my exercise. (They go in the front on Squats and in the back on Press)
Ending up going with these.
I am not an audiophile so I can't speak much to the quality of the sound but for running I like the Jaybirds

My biggest issue with headphones is they fall out. They are either not secure or the cord gets stuck and I end up yanking one out. Not securing the cord leads to other issues. The jaybirds aren't connected to a device, so there are no cord issues. I also like the fact that I can answer the phone while I am running.
My coworker uses these and loves them. I bought a pair to go running with and they're pretty good for what they are. I can take a call while running and the other end hasn't complained about quality yet.

I'm confused, I got on Amazon and did a search for Jaybird Freedom and found these. They don't look like the ones in the video but they have the same name and are sold by Jaybird. Does Jaybird offer a lower-end version too?
Honestly man I don't know if these even exist really. Maybe in theory or renders, but it'd be really fucking hard to do, what with how small IEM's are and how much power bluetooth uses in relation to the IEM's size.
But I'm probably wrong, since I haven't looked into them recently.
Edit: Now I have.
Here's some in your budget: http://www.amazon.com/Jaybird-Freedom-Bluetooth-Earbuds-Fit-Bluetooth/dp/B005B28DOM
Unfortunately, those are the only one's I could find. If you're just trying to avoid microphonics, which is like the sound the cord makes in your ear when it bumps into your body or anything really, then you can just search for "low microphonics headphones".
These are decent:

If you're willing to spend a little more and want wireless there's a great deal on the Jaybird Freedom for $39.

They have optional ear clips that keep them on.
