I got the Logitech mouse last year and it practically got rid of all my pain. I haven't had to use my wrist brace since then. I bought a second one for home use. It's a bit awkward at first having to use your thumb but you get fully used to it after a week or two. I'd say my current mouse/keyboard use during a regular work day would be 50/50 and it does not involve a lot of fine motor control as when I was doing lots of digitizing. When I find myself having to digitize a lot sometimes I do find this mouse makes me slower and I switch to a regular mouse.

If you do a lot of digitizing the lugulake vertical mouse (www.amazon.com/dp/B00CEO4SH6) would a good medium between ergonomics and fine control. The downside of this is that it's wired, my pinky would occasionally slip off and drag on the table surface, and you're still needing to move your arm/forearm around which was a problem for me as the table surface was too high for me.

In your searches you might come across a different trackball Logitech mouse with the red ball at the top center, don't get it, it sucks. The lack of a scroll wheel gets rather annoying and it still requires your wrist to rest parallel to the table which is one of the things that hurt your wrist.

I am a fan of the vertical mouse. I used to get dull pains all up my forearm and down my index finger. If I use a regular mouse for an extended period of time, the pain returns in full force.

I started with a Lugulake a few years ago - hey, for $10, it's not a big loss. Two weeks of getting used to it and I was hooked. I now use an Evoluent at the office and this Anker everywhere else. I actually prefer the Anker over the Evoluent.

I started using a vertical mouse earlier today (from Amazon of course) and I am loving it! I got used to it way quicker than I thought I would...huzzah!

I used to have a lot of elbow pain (like tennis elbow) until I switched to a vertical ergonomic mouse. I use a cheap one, not a high end gaming mouse, but it's the most comfortable mouse I have ever used (though it too some getting used to). This is the one I use.

I just got this $10 vertical mouse, which is supposed to alleviate exactly that wrist problem. I'm still breaking it in but so far it looks good. http://www.amazon.com/LUGULAKE-Vertical-Ergonomic-Optical-Relieving/dp/B00CEO4SH6/ref=sr_sp-btf_image_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1374949954&sr=8-8&keywords=ergonomic+mouse

Hmm... Have you tired one of these mice? http://www.amazon.ca/LUGULAKE-Vertical-Ergonomic-Relieving-Valentines/dp/B00CEO4SH6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1404860928&sr=8-6&keywords=computer+mouse+ergonomic

That are super comfortable with low tension on the wrists. . Also maybe a pen and tablet?
