When I needed to replace the seat on my toilet, I picked up one with a soft close. It's a little thing, but it's really nice not having to worry about slamming the silly thing all the time.
That seems silly. FYI these are the exact ones we bought and they are great!
If you want any guy to put the seat down on every use, install a slow-closing toilet seat.
