Strictly regular N3DS.

Background: At the time of this post, there is absolutely nothing on Amazon for N3DS accessories aside from the cover plates (GG two day shipping). This is the culmination of my research after lurking /r/3DS and Google.

Case

Shit tier ($0 - $1): Walk inside your local Sunglass Hut or Lenscrafter (or message Warby Parker customer rep online). Ask if they have any microfiber pouches. These pouches will most likely fit your N3DS. Very, very pocketable.
I'm going with a 3DS XL case tier ($10): Easily found on Amazon.. 3DS will fit, but it will slide around. The issue with using a 3DS XL case is that there's a lot of wasted room and makes carrying the 3DS bulky. On the bright side, you can carry your charging cable on the edge.
eBay-ing from Japan tier ($15 - 30): If you're willing to wait 2 weeks for your case, you can find a variety of hard cases on eBay. The key is to know how to search eBay. Do searches with the arguments (-XL, -LL, +New, +N3DS) to narrow down the clutter.
Money is no object tier ($59): The holy grail of 3DS cases, CitySlicker. Leather exterior, mesh pouch for your cable, 3 slots for your 3DS games, and relatively thin. Looks amazing, San Francisco based company.

I hope so. I bought these micro fiber bags The phone fits perfectly. Im using this when the phone is in my pocket or bag. It is also a nice way to keep the finger prints cleaned off too.
