Just my humble anti-PCMR battlestation.

$219 is a decent price, but you can get a brand new one on Amazon for an extra $10.

I don't know about US pricing, so I'm just gonna use the Amazon prices here.

Now for the pc:

The pc is as cheap as a console, has an OS, can run modern games at 1080p60 at at least console grade settings and set up should be as easy as sliding the side panel off, clicking the gpu in place and installing the nvidia drivers. (wich is just spamming next)

Other benefits are: free online, upgradability, cheaper games, etc. (those and more are listed in the post above)

Right, but one card costs as much as a console, and you’re probably upgrading it a lot more often than once every 7-8 years. And that's only the graphics card.

I'm as PCMR as the next user but I'm not about to pretend playing AAA games on PC is somehow cheaper than playing them on a $250 commodity gaming appliance.

depends, where are your friends at? There is no doubt more people playing on PS4, and the PS4 pro does have better visuals than XboX but aside from that they're the same.

I want it on PC but I'll probably stick to xbox for a while since that's where my friends are. And destiny is best played with friends.

Not to mention the Xbox One S is starting at like $250

The XB1S controllers have a 3.5mm jack that works with any headset. I use a HyperX Cloud 2 and love the hell out of it. It's easily the best headset I've ever used and is under $100.

Also, this is a much better deal for an XB1S. It's a system with 4 games for $250. Just get an external for all your games :)

on Amazon it's $249 https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-S-500GB-Console/dp/B01MTJA6EV

You can probably buy it at that price at other store with some games included. I have both an xbox one since day one and a gaming computer.
Short term and long term, it's cheaper to play on consoles. Except if you only buy old games during steam sales.

You can absolutely build a good PC or snag a used one for cheap. However, I highly doubt you'll be able to reliably find a PC which can play a game such as Battlefield 1 that costs $250. Sure, you might luck out with somebody desperate to offload an old rig on craigslist or ebay, but that isn't reliable advice for somebody who really wants to get into gaming.

At the beginning of a console generation, you might be able to piece together a PC that costs a similar amount as the new console that can run the same games, but certainly not at the midway point.

Note: I am only bringing this up so people who read this post that are new to PC gaming understand that getting a PC for the cost of a console today requires either incredible luck that isn't reliable as far as advice and/or a lot of expertise in PC building to ensure you don't wind up with a collection of parts that don't work together.
