I came to suggest the R7500. I just got it. AMAZING Router. Super easy setup. the 5Ghz reaches to all of the rooms in my 2 story 2,600 sq ft house.

I had huge problems with devices connecting, disconnecting, slow speeds, etc... Problems no more!

If anyone browses this post again... I finally got it working near the speeds that Mediacom offers. Here is my final configuration.

  • Mediacom Cable Modem
  • Linksys AC3200 - Got it for $129 from Sams Club.
  • Netgear WNDR4500
  • All Cat6 wiring

Having the router plugged into the cable modem is where I saw the difference. My Surface Pro 4 was not producing accurate results with a direct connection to the cable modem. The Netgear Nighthawk would have produced slightly better results.
