I just bought the official wireless charger from google, and then attached it to my car using very heavy duty velcro. Then, since my car doesnt have bluetooth, I bought one of these and attached it using a spare bit of the heavy duty velcro. All that was left to be done at that point was attach an NFC tag in my car, and program it so that it would turn off wifi, turn on data, and toggle on bluetooth on / off and connect to the receiver, and then connecting to the receiver would trigger it to open GPM and start playing the music
I have the official nexus charger and it works great. It's a couple bucks more, but I think it's worth it after reading the reviews on the other ones. It has magnets that hold the phone down so you know it's in the right spot.

Stick tape on back side of charge and then on dash anywhere you'd like. Phone holds perfectly. Has NEVER slipped off without physical interaction (aka, I go to smack a hoe and hit the phone on accident).
I bought the official Nexus charger due to the magnets, I have it propped up so I can see the screen with out picking it up. But there are cheaper ones available.

Buy this mount, unclip the phone mount part, use a wire cutter/whatever to cut the tabs off the clip then superglue the wireless charger to the plastic rectangle.
You now have a mount that is strongly magnetic enough to stay in place and will charge with enough amps to do anything (GPS+WIFI Tether+Music+Maps) and still charge the battery.

I'm actually working on the same type of setup. I'm planning on testing both a N7 and Raspberry Pi + 7" Touch Display.
One idea I had with the N7 was to actually flush mount (or slightly protrude) the wireless chargers in the wall and then I could just grab 'n go thanks to the magnets in the charger / tablet. I haven't tested whether the magnets are strong enough to hold the tablet vertically, but if it worked, I could see myself placing these all around the house.
Unfortunately the N7 is EOL, but the N9 could theoretically work just as well.
