Ultra pen seems a little overkill for the 2-4 plants I plan on growing.

I do plan on using RO water. In another thread someone mentioned making all pH adjustments to the water after adding the nutrients as the nutrients change the pH significantly. Would this be your recommendation as well?

Thanks for all of your advice. I don't believe this will be easy at all; which is why I'm doing extensive research before buying anything. I greatly value the feedback I'm getting here and trust the experience you all have in this subreddit.
