That's about the temperature it's been where I am now. I've been riding with these relatively thin tights (because my legs don't get too cold) under my padded shorts. But I swap them out for full leg, slightly warmer tights if I'm not riding in the middle of the day because sunlight makes a huge temperature difference.

When I'm riding during the day (50's), I wear these armings with a tank jersey. They're warm, they breathe. Wind can cut through them if it's really windy so I top it off with this really light breathable jacket. Mine is about a decade old and it packs up into itself til it's about tennis ball size.

If I'm on either end of the day where temps start to fall (and just so you guys don't think I'm the pearl izumi poster child...), I add this shirt over the tank jersey and armings.

I typically get cold easily so with these clothes, I'm chilly when I'm not moving. But I also warm up significantly when I'm on the trail. So discovering what works for you is really more of a trial and error thing. But I find that flexibility (carrying a little extra and ability to remove small layers) really helps you find the balance when you're out there.

Have fun. :)

EDIT: my gloves and skullcap. I've had both of these for years and they've held up well.
